It's over...I cannot watch anymore...we do get the FULL refund if we already purchased tickets for Game 6 right? I hope they don't keep the lame service charge. I don't even know why they had already charged my credit card. Couldn't they wait a few days to be sure?

You only get the ticket price back...Toyota Center keeps the service charge. I asked when I bought the tickets. I almost didn't buy them because of this, but there was no way I could miss that game, should it have become a reality. They got $11.50 out of me...and a lot of people. Add all those service charges up and Toyota Center just made a bunch of money for doing absolutely nothing. It's highway robbery.

Do we need to do anything to get the refund, or is it automatic? How long will it take? Perhaps someone from the Rockets could clarify this?

How can you buy tickets to an event that MIGHT happen? How about waiting for it to actually be scheduled if there is money involved? JEEBUS.

    I agree, should have waited.
And the loyal fans that did buy in advance should receive a full refund, including service charge.

Its insulting to think that effort was worth $11.50

The problem with waiting to see if the game actually happened is the chances of getting tickets would have been small. People all over the city would have flocked to the internet site, clogging that up, and the phone lines would have been jammed (assuming they were open). I threw a fit on the phone when I found out I was out the service charge no matter what, but I figured I'd rather be out $11.50 than risk not being able to go to the game. I think it's criminal and unethical for them to keep the "service" charge since they didn't perform a "service." They just end up with a huge pile of cash for doing NOTHING.

I guess it depends on what the service charge is really for. If it is for the process of your transaction (i.e. allowing you to buy the tickets and delivering them to you) then they have a right to the $$$. The game won't happen, but I did receive my "tickets" in the mail, and that cost the company something.

The fees are to run the system that allows you to purchase the tickets at a remote location, over the phone or on-line.

This process is not unique to the Toyota Center or to the Rockets.

Suck it up and welcome to the 21st century!

Below is the Houston Rockets refund policy for tickets purchased to unnecessary playoff games:

Fans who purchased tickets to playoff games that have become unnecessary may receive a refund in the same manner as the purchase was made. For example, if a fan purchased tickets by credit card, the Rockets will credit the card used to purchase the tickets. If a fan purchased tickets with cash, the Rockets will issue a cash refund when the tickets are returned to the Toyota Center Box Office. Fans with questions about this refund policy, should call (713) 627- DUNK.

Customers who purchased tickets at Randalls, On-line, or the Phone Center via Credit Card will automatically be refunded starting today. If they paid with Cash at the Box Office or Randalls they have to come to the Box Office and bring us back the tickets to be refunded.

hell, I bought a playoff package for the first 2 rounds and now will be refunded for the games that didnt happen. I never questioned the risk of getting tixs for games that u may not know if its going to happen. If you have the money to throw down, then go for it. My friend and I did when they are available to the ticket package holders. It was a high risk but HIGHLY rewarding. As stated above, people took the chance to pay the service fees, and other people like me bought a few extras for Game 3 and 4 at the Toyota Center (w/o paying the service fees) and made a sweet profit on Ebay. :D
