It is not a single game it is the fact that we don't have a single player who you could see as being a part of a championship team. There is not one player that consistently plays well or at least does one thing well consistently. NOT ONE!!!!

Boki is the only who at least have hopes of becoming a useful player on a championship team not as the core off course that should not be necessary to point out! But as good roleplayer or becnh player there is still hope for him at least.

I could go over every single player in detail but will spare you the agony.. But I have done it for myself and they simply all have too many questionmarks to themselves. They sometimes do something good but NEVER consistenly... And they share one other thing“: For each thing they sometimes do well they have two things they never do well unfortunately. I will bring Cato as an example.

What does Cato do well: He is a presence on the defensive end and sometimes hustles and rebound. If he learned to do this EVERY game he could be a backup PF/C on a championship team maybe just maybe actually.

But the thing is he can't shoot worth anything despite being in the league for so many years now and that is just sad.. He makes stupid fouls and don't seem to understand the basics of the game. After all these years the guy is still raw for gods sakes! You can't count on him bringing his best effort every game or at least just play his own role well even though the rest of the team sucks on any given day. So all these flaws make him useless if you are serious about winning a championship.

All the current players have so many flaws (the worst being inconsistency and lack of fundamentals) that they will never be good enough to bring it home to Houston.. Start over please Les and bring in someone who at least give us a little REAL hope. Yao does not do that and Steve does not and Cat does not and......

You always think so? after game 3, you think steve can't be a part of championship team?

Yes, they have weakness, who haven't? In the meantime, they have strength and upside, and they are improving.

Yes I do because Steve has too many flaws and is not consistent enough.. Steve could very well be the player closest to being a part of a chapionship team but he can not lead a team to it and his skills and salary needs will always make him a player you expect more from compared to what you will get in terms of consistency and winning games. Compared to other so called superstars Steve doesn't have the complete game needed.

I am simply shocked at a so bold statement!

Let me ask you two questions,

    1. What's your expection of rox before this season?

    2. According to your standard, how many players, totally, in this league can be part of a champion team??

On a champiosnhip team you need superstars that can carry the team at times or at least very very good roleplayers who always knows what to do on the court.

My expectations of the rox was to see individual progress and developing a winning attitude with the current players. Neither has happened and I don't believe it will happen with the current squad. Off course we had to take a chance on Ming but he does not seem like he has what it takes to be dominant or even someone you can rely on to do his part regurlarly.

You asked me to name players who I think belongs on championship teams or have a chance to contribute on a championship team? Ok

Superstars: Duncan, Shaq, Kobe, Kidd, T-Mac, Parker.

Roleplayers or smart players: Many but here are some... Bowen, Martin, Artest, Bibby, Cassell, Snow etc.. These players have weaknesses but you can rely on them bringing a true effort each game and have at least one thing they do well EVERY game..

Don't you just hate it when people say, "I'm outta here!" then hang around to discuss it?

Well I didn't say I was outta here if you read it carefully but I will be very soon anyway.. I just felt that when someone asked something I could answer him back you know.. But thank you for posting such a good and well thought out post who makes you look so cool  in the eyes of everybody in here.

If you don't like me "hanging around" in my own thread then read something else please I for one will not have a problem with that. A matter a fact I would be delighted if you would bring your judgmental attitude to another thread same goes for Master Baiter who always likes to give his opinion of how other people should post but cant make posts longer than one line himself..

Severe Rockets Fan is just a hater anyways.. He has a proven record of that.. So I will take the Drama Queen insult as a compliment coming from him..

Now blow up this team and get some fundamentally sound and intelligent players.. Why strive to be only good but not the best??
