There are two types of insulin, long acting taken regularly and fast acting for spikes in blood sugar. The fast acting can vary on how fast it brings down sugar. I'm saying this because I've debated this with another diabetic here, but I maintain if your brand becomes expensive, you can get used to the Wal-Mart brand. Its not life or death, you just have to get used to it. Wal-Mart started selling this insulin cheaply as well as a brand of blood sugar testing supplies cheaply6 years ago. On the insulin my cost dropped almost $200 monthly to $50. The prices are both with no insurance
