Is this what the senators that don't vote to convict will face? Hawley approval rating in solidly-red Missouri: 36% approve, 49% disapprove. Just 63% approval (and 21%) disapproval among REPUBLICANS. Via Morning Consult. Big red flags.
'So petty': Donald and Melania Trump fired chief usher before leaving White House to spite Bidens Travis Gettys January 22, 2021 President Joe Biden was blamed for firing the White House chief usher on his first day on the job, but his predecessor actually did the deed -- apparently to spite the incoming first family. Donald and Melania Trump sent White House ushers home early on Inauguration Day in one of their last acts in a tense presidential transition, a well-placed official not associated with the Biden team told the National Journal. "The Trumps sent the butlers home when they left so there would be no one to help the Bidens when they arrived," the official said. "So petty." Other knowledgable sources confirmed to the Journal that chief usher Timothy Harleth, a former executive of Trump Hotels hired by Melania Trump, was summarily fired by the outgoing president and first lady -- and not by the Bidens, as was widely reported afterward. Harleth was already gone by the time Joe and Jill Biden arrived at the White House on Wednesday afternoon, leaving no one in place to open the doors for their inaugural entry and leading to an awkward pause. "It's a big protocol breach for the president to ever stand in front of a closed door at the White House," said a veteran White House social expert. "That may be why there was nobody to open the doors to the Bidens. You couldn't expect the Biden staff to know to do that. Doors are opened and closed by ushers. There are rules about all these things and everyone has their job." The rest of the usher staff was back on the job Thursday, but Harleth -- considered to be a Trump loyalist -- was not expected to be retained by the Bidens for long. https://www.rawstory.com/white-house-chief-usher/
A picture is worth a thousand words. Also, cartoons provide a medium that are at the mental and emotional level of this audience.
Actually it proves you are unable to articulate your views to people who disagree with you, so being the lazy sore loser that you are you continuously spam the board with memes. I don't even know why you're still here...
What do you get out of this? Sincere question. Is this you just swinging at air because you know you are incapable of actually debating policy and historical events in your own words?
This is me using a communications medium that is at a level that I hope that people such as yourself will be able to understand. Lots of pictures. If a web forum like this one enabled the use of three-dimensional pop-up books, such as are popular with toddlers, I would be posting those too. But this being a two dimensional medium, that is not possible. So cartoons it is.
You are contradicting yourself. You are explaining why you need to express your opinion with pictures implying we are illiterate but are explaining that with sentences. Sorry. I'm too dumb. Please use pictures.
Better petty than taking all of the W's off of keyboards (which I know didn't really happen, but would have been a lot funner if it did), but less creative.
Biden speech went into 2nd straight day. Carrying on breathlessly with no sign of soon stopping, President Joe Biden’s inaugural address spilled over into the second day Thursday as he continued to list the greatest issues facing the nation. “Child poverty, crumbling infrastructure, cyber warfare, wildfires, opioids, domestic violence, hunger, and homelessness plague our nation—not to mention sex trafficking, automation, hurricanes, obesity, and misinformation,” said Biden, who clutched the podium with both hands in exhaustion as his speech to the nation stretched into its 26th hour, continuing to list immigration, unemployment, offshoring, guns, the wage gap, and water contamination as just a few of thousands of challenges waiting on the road ahead. “Gerrymandering, the decline of manufacturing, sexual harassment, and food deserts. Chlamydia, the cost of insulin, water privatization, credit card debt, dog fighting, and teen drinking. High murder rates on indigenous reservations and rising sea levels and smog. Low teacher salaries, E. coli, data breaches, voter suppression, animal testing, and PTSD. Plus, you can’t forget the student loan crisis, lobster overfishing, the structural inequalities of the Senate, home foreclosures, the loneliness epidemic, toddler drowning deaths, cyberbullying, and suicide.” At press time, Biden had continued rattling off gang violence, robocalling, and asthma as EMTs transported the dehydrated president into an ambulance.
