Only if you are willing to play zone. Otherwise teams will pull him away from the basket, force a switch and it's a layup line.

I doubt that he will ever be as effective as his father due to the difference in styles of play in their eras. In Manute's playing days there were tons of post ups which he could disrupt.

If he's just a 3 point shooter then that negates his height. He also has a really low release point on his shot. When I saw him in college, UH guards were able to block two of his 3 point attempts.

His ball handling is never going to be a weapon just because of the sheer height of his dribble. And his slow footspeed.

Why does it matter who he works out with?

Yes, he started due to injuries and they lost the game. Are you trying to insinuate that he played well?

Bottom line. He's been really bad on both offense and defense.

I still see the good in him
He fits the something to prove mentality of this team

So does every player in the G league. Should we sign them too?

The only reason to acquire Bol would be if you believe that he was going to develop into a good player.

    Is that what you believe?

Have you even watched him play or just seen highlights?

    He's not in the G-League.

Time will tell if you are right or if I'm right.

    His long strides are deceiving

I'm aware. That was a reference to him fitting our something to prove mentality. Every player in the G League fits that mentality too.

There's a reason that he dropped to the middle of the 2nd round in the draft. There's a reason that he only got a two way contract his rookie year. There's a reason that he signed a new deal for less than $2.5m/year.

He's not a great prospect and when he's been on the floor he's been bad on both offense and defense. His issues are mostly things that can't be fixed.

He definitely has more upside than cousins

That doesnt mean that he isn't terrible. Is being better than Cousins in a few years your criteria for judging talent?

How many players don't have more upside than Cousins?

Why especially to houston? Houston is ideal I think bc we have some vets that they can use and we are no threat to them. Trading bol bol to us isn't going to hurt their playoff chances.

I've enjoyed your takes. Do you think Chet Holmgren will have the same issues?

Bol hasn't worked well with anyone so far. He's been bad on offense and he's been horrible on defense.

He will get a couple of blocks due to his size but that wont make up for the parade of blow bys that he allows.

I haven't seen him play other than YouTube videos. He's really skinny but he looks as if he's normally proportioned.

Go check out Bol. He's 7'2" but even at that height his legs are disproportionally long.

    Bump.

Would this be fun during the Tank era?

    Rockets should send Gordon packing
