He can play. I like .. he has an attitude but this team needs a rough rider

Good low risk high reward move. Have Lucas work with him and Cousins put him on his ass if he acts up.

Considering the tank is on and Oladipo may be traded Porter could end up playing huge minutes which would be great for his development and likely improve his attitude.

Feels like they could’ve gotten this same exact deal from a number of other teams. Maybe there was some good will established for hooking them up with Allen and Prince for only a first round pick.

My first thought about him was he’s a nutcase. But then I read what happened and I thought he has the right to be mad. If somebody moves my stuff without even asking me I would be mad too.

Good pickup for us. We need all the talent we can get. Maybe a new environment with some good leadership can change his direction. For a protected 2nd round pick, we have nothing to lose in the deal, only to gain a good young backup PG. I think John Lucas can do him some good while he is here.

Porter reminds me of a young Cuttino Mobley. Lefty, similar slashing approach, similar use of hesitation, hang-time, and craftiness around the basket. Mobley entered the league 4 years older than Porter Jr did. (23 vs 19 y/o) Both averaged 10ppg in their rookie season.

If you want to feel old, know that Porter had not yet been born when Mobley entered his 2nd NBA season.

Players like Porter could either be something to build with, or assist in the 2021 Tank Tour. Good move.

Guaranteed this is Patrick getting ideas from CF

maybe this guy really will be ok , but I tend to agree with “this is just going to make Silas’ job even harder”

if wall is out for a long time and/or we trade Gordon/dips soon he can get minutes . But right now with dipo/ Gordon / brown / Jones and then wall we have a crunch at guard .

Does he play the 3 ? does that cut Tate’s development time ?

Upside is there I guess . But a food fight ? Really ?

    oh well , Splash
