My one concern is that we really don’t know Caserio’s thinking. Most of us, including myself, want to give him the benefit of the doubt and believe he’ll do what he can to keep DW4. But think there is also a distinct possibility where he knows this is not salvageable and wants to move on. It’s interesting that we haven’t head a single thing about Caserio and DW4 talking. If they haven’t, either one side hasn’t reached out or the other side has ghosted. Not good either way. It’s interesting because Caserio might be in a no lose situation here. If he can keep DW4, he’ll be Houston’s savior. If he deals him, he’ll have a ton of picks to play with while Cal and Easterby take the blame for pushing Watson out.
Not who I would pick but Watson likes him. Whoever Watson wants. I'd be worried if they hired Bieniemy and Watson was still traded. He wouldn't have a Mahomes or Watson type QB to run the offense. But then I wouldn't see why he would take the job if he knew Watson wouldn't be here.
Watson CAN'T just leave...lol. He can't force his way out. Sit out, the money he would lose would be INSANE. He is too much of a competitor to do that.
Folks keep saying this but you are right on this one. The Texans own his services for YEARS and can franchise him after that. He has no leverage other than the no trade clause and if the Texans don't want to trade him, then that's useless. He's going to play.
You know that’s the same situation for almost any player requesting a trade. And they almost always get dealt.
Weren’t you the one saying the DHop trade was justified because you can’t have a cancer in the lockeroom? Not saying DW4 would be one but there was nothing that showed DHop was one either. I hope you are right but players that want almost always get dealt. Just the way it is nowadays.
No, I never called DHop a "cancer". I said a disgruntled player can cause locker room issues. This is different. Watson has got his money. Also, Watson is a different person than Hopkins. Players wanting more money is a totally different issue.
Is it? A star player wanting out because he doesn’t trust the owner and his right hand man does not seem like a better issue to me.
I hate that the Texans are creating such suspense only so they can name Leslie Frazier as the next head coach.
When talking about becoming a HC, his smile gets big and his demeanor changes and he looks more happy and upbeat(not that he’s not), does he know something we don’t?
I came here to post that tweet but found the original video. https://www.chiefs.com/video/eric-b...-to-defend-home-field-and-pursue-our-goals-pr He seems very upbeat. That's the face of a guy who finally got a HC job.
If they hire Bienemy that means they are actually letting Caserio do his job. If they hire Frazier that means that Jack is still calling the shots and Caserio is just getting paid to take all the heat. I'm leaning hard that it's going to be Frazier, Cal is just that dumb.
