I could see them overcorrecting and not wanting to have any sheen of being cheerleaders, there are a lot of republicans needing a different news source. Will be interesting to see how this plays out.
I am not in favor of anything past that and we need to get ppl back to work. I am not a fan of doing any stimulus unless we bill China.
So to be clear, you are in favor of Biden's $1400 stimulus check? How do you feel about these other provisions in his plan? $160 billion in additional funding for an aggressive national vaccination program; $240 billion in additional efforts to address the pandemic; raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour; extending the eviction and foreclosure moratoriums through September 30; increasing federal unemployment payments from $300 a month to $400.
I really liked his article from 3 days ago that said..."Stimulus is nice, but here's what Biden REALLY needs to do to fix the economy" I'll save you the trouble of reading it, his answer is "End the pandemic". That's some deep thinking. https://edition.cnn.com/2021/01/18/economy/us-economy-biden-presidency/index.html
Specifically opposed to 15 per hour. It will screw small businesses. Largely i get that stimulus may help boost the economy but it must be limited and should NOT be directed to corporations and banks. Nor foreign countries.
See...for the most part we agree. This isn't the bill where minimum wage should be included. That's for a different time and discussion. There is nothing in this particular stimulus bill nor was there anything in the 900 billion dollar one that was explicitly directed to foreign countries. That stuff was in the annual omnibus bill and had no direct impact on the stimulus piece.
I once drove a rental with speed governor. Tried peddling it to 65. Engine would rev up and whine but the ol speedometer would still register 55. The sound of that engine filling the cabin while giving it's all but couldn't muster adequate cruising speed is something no one should hear...
CNN could be the network of prosecuting Seditionist... and former Presidents. We should get a lot of courtroom drama overe the next 6 months.
