this team is a losing team regardless they might as well aim for a top 4 pick instead of battling for a pick in the 10-14 range
1. Philly tanked 3 years not 5. 2. They were close in 2018-2019 3. They wasted half of the assets acquired from tanking because they fired Hinkie and hired an incompetent FO 4. They'll be competitive for the ECF for the next 4 - 5 years, let's see how long it takes us to get to the position they are now given the head start we have from the Harden's trade, if we don't get high picks.
The issue is the lottery is a lot different now. It doesn't reward losing nearly as much. You'll do much better building a team the right way and just selling players off for lotto picks because one of those lotto picks might turn out to be a top 5 pick any ways.
people talk like the alternative to not tanking isn’t still missing the playoffs anyways this team sucks...different rotations, player X hitting shots, or player Y not missing games etc isn’t changing things all that much
When the Rockets make a run late to get the game close after playing like trash the first 3 quarters:
What? The Mavs are ONE star away from contention for the next decade. I personally thought they had a good shot at Giannis if he didn’t sign the super max.
what a mental gymnastics....if only this and that ... if harden chooses them ... if they trade this player for the other.... ewwww.... sounds a lot like 2 years away from being 2 years away... so they tanked 5 years an still need to trade ben simmons for whom exactly? let me counter you with this one diamond....we are only a trade for lebron away from being champions oh did they ? and i thought picks solve all the problems so you are telling me we can tank now for 2 years get the player we want (despite small probability he isnt a bust) and still be a bad team because of management? see this is why i prefer fighting a big fight every night and leave the losing to the losers
It’s a good thing Donic is 21 and already a top 10 player. that’s possible with any level of pick my guy. We don’t have the talent here. And that’s not gonna change with this roster in 3 years unless we get more talent.
I think this is going to be the story going forward. We have a lot of young pieces and erratic role players. They will have good and bad moments. Tonight, Ayton was the difference maker in the game, both on the offensive and defensive end. Big centers cause us fits right now, and we don't have anyone that can matchup size wise or versatility. Tate had good moments today but also had some bad ones. He must have dropped three passes that hit him squarely in the hands. Christian Wood and Oladipo once again started VERY slow. Jones had good moments but also a few easy misses, including a layup that he should have had that he got a foul call on but wasn't a foul and ended up being overturned. Defensive miscues galore. Frustration fouls at inopportune moments, dry stretches on offense where no one can get anything going, and too many players that can't create their own shot. Wall will help, but he's not going to solve all of these problems. We should accept that this will be a development year for everyone on the roster, be happy that they'll come out every night with effort and occasionally win a game here or there, but probably end the season just out of contention for a top-4 selection in which case we'll literally be swapping down from a top-10 pick to a late rounder.
Their issue is Porzingis demands the max and he's not good enough as a robin. Right now they look a lot like CJ and Dame...good to be in the playoffs every year, maybe have a deep run, but Porzingis is not their 2nd star. Maybe they won't make the mistake the rockets did with Dwight and trade him or maybe they won't make the Portland mistake of just stubbornly sticking with that duo. It's not enough.
We are the losers LMAO. Philly even with bad management is set up way better for the future than we are. They have a top 10 player on their team, we do not. Simmons is a top 30 player. It’s not mental gymnastics it’s facts. Stop settling for mediocrity
They could have traded Kawhi and Harden easily. Management is of course always important, but tanking doesn't make a good management bad, and vice versa.
I stand corrected: David Weiner @BimaThug · 1h No. Rockets get the WORST of their own (top-4 protected), OKC’s or MIA’s pick.
i am still waiting on you posting the link to your post where you predicted the warriors win it all in 2014 and become the dynasty or where you predicted miami getting to the finals last year Spoiler TAKE THAT FOR DATA
