I think it's human nature for people to gravitate to a 'strongman' because of the self-preservation instinct. the thing about trump is he helped to validate some of the worst things in people. and he loved to project, trying to accuse everyone else of the things he was doing, making it easier for his followers to not face up to the things he truly represented Q and other conspiracy theories serve the same purpose. its entirely based on the idea that trump is some sort of hero, and everyone else is among the worst you can imagine (like pedophiles). it's vital to keep that validation intact. because if none of those things are true, what does it say about what they are really supporting?
