This is great news after losing George. Congrats to Click and Crane for getting it done, and I’m glad Brantley was willing to stay after the sign stealing scandal.

We saw Correa emerge as a man last season. I think, being healthy, he's gonna be a beast riding last season's momentum.

Just hope he stays healthy for the duration... good DH fallback option should Alvarez’ knee issues flare up again.

Yes! Thank goodness some good news! Lineup should still be one of the leagues best if everyone is healthy.

I can't believe he signed so cheap. Must reflect the covid market and lack of spending...

From my estimate, we had about 45 million under tax to pay Springer and Brantley... that leaves 29 million...

I would make a run at Realmuto if he's still out there... maybe 135 million over 6 years...

Empty the farm for a young centerfielder and maybe try whitley at closer...

He does have three young kids (7, 5 and 3) and I'm guessing that played into the decision. He's only been in CLE and HST.

Just wish we could've had his "flat tire partner" here but MB is a big win.

Really happy with the move. If we can get Correa to an extension, this offseason is a successful. Click can trades for needed positions during mid season when that time come. Let’s see what we have with the young arms in the bullpen and starting rotation. Marisnick sounds good at CF for me until Leon is ready.

Can a lot of ya’ll shut up now that the Astros are cheap and won’t spend.

Springer was our top guy that we were waiting on.

I love Springer because he was born Stros, but to the Stros Brantley was more important than Springer. Who would you take a career .270, or a .297 hitter? The Stros did the right path as much as I love #4, 150 million for a .270 career hitter?!?!?!?!? Hor Hay was a great defender, but he never won a Gold Glove. Love this Brantley.

Consistency is key and the Astros current roster has a lot of guys that show they can be really streaky over the last 2 years. He's been there most consistent guy for a while now, I think. This is pretty big. It's a big hole in the lineup you DON'T have to worry about for a couple of years, and its a fair price for his consistency. The fact that he signed for a 2 year deal at 33 is big. You're not overpaying for him when he's 36 or 37. Other teams must have balked at a 3 or 4 year deal I guess?

He was a top 5 free agent. He's played well and been healthy...

I was expecting him to get closer to 3 years 65 million or 75 over 4...

this is a terrible post. No way is brantley better or more important than Springer and it’s not close. One can argue dollar for dollar value, contract length. But heads up as a player, not even close.

Pretty sure every single GM in baseball would take Springer the player over Brantley the player. Springer has a career OPS of .852, Brantley. 794. Springer has around 60 more home runs in about 1600 less plate appearances. Springer can play all 3 outfield positions. How many gold glove has Brantley won?

Crazy idea but Brantley should be the new lead off hitter
