So am I the only one on CF who thinks Gordon's contract isn't that bad? He's making around $17m for two seasons after this one and the final year of his contract is non-guaranteed. He's on a 3 year deal earning under $20m. There are worse players in the league earning more money than him. For comparison's sake, his teammate John Wall will be earning almost $50 f'n million in the final year of his deal. Gordon is a moveable piece after this season, and it would be really dumb to attach assets to dump his salary unless we have word that a max player is willing to sign here.
Oh man, I almost thought he signed another extension. 4 years is the worst part given Morey's tendency for short ones.
Gordon isn’t even worth half of his current salary...he’s garbage sure, it’s not John Wall albatross level, but he’s still a negative asset
He has a nice contract. I wonder If the Warriors would consider giving us that Minny 1st for EG and Tucker... (Especially If we took back Wiggins for them)
There is absolutely no reason to attach an asset to lose him. If anyone will give us anything at all for him, even a 2nd, take it. But if you have to add the pick to lose him? Nah. What's the point? We don't need capspace nobody's signing here. Just use him as an expiring in 2 years.
Man, I saw "Eric Gordon signs 4 year extension" without seeing the thread date, and I was so ready to RAGE TF OUT
Pretty sure Tilman won't want to exchange $65M in contracts for $100M and end up with a lazy, underachieving SG and a mid-1st-rounder to show for it.
The Rockets should not be in the business of attaching their hard-earned assets to bad contracts anymore. EG is not worth having on the roster for 2 more years after this one, but I think someone will offer up something this coming off-season....even if it's just a 2nd round pick.
You think that Minny pick will be a mid-1st? Top 10 at worst, no? Hell, it smells a bit like a top 5 pick. I might swap Gordon for Wiggins for one of those. No one knows a Wiggins better than JLucas.
Eric gordon is on a good contract, find another SG that's an above average defender and a ~37% 3 pt shooter and a guy that can create his own offense for less than 20 mil. Its definitely not a negative asset, only for the r****ds on this forum, not a steal either just an appropriate contract and I'm sure every contender in the league would love to have him if a trade needs to be made. Just cuz a guy can't get wide open 3 pt shots on a **** team doesn't mean he's a **** player
nice try but wiggins has been miles better this year than eg. Wiggins is one of the best iso scorers in the nba and a plus on defense with bouncy athletism and great length. He and oubre are guarding the best offensive players every night
Wish he was more consistent, but this was a loyalty contract for past years. One of the few "uncheap" moves I can't knock Tilman for... I hope people who wanted to extend Tuck are still ok with this one.
40%? You must not have been paying attention for the last 2+ years. His shot has become damn near broken
It's a good contract that Gordon hasn't been able to live up to so far. If he can play... then I think Gordon should get a boost from Harden leaving. There's no rush to move him this season, at least enough of a rush to attach a pick to. Really think the Magic could use him this season and beyond.
That is true, I think it's a hold over from the harden spacing theory. He's not that great coming off screens for 3 so I thinks its hard for him to get open unless people get him open
