Im not sure if Harden or Kyrie will stick around after 2023. They could be chasing rings like KD did with Warriors and leave after their contract is up. I can envision harden returning if rockets are competing or another team in contention. Same with Kyrie. What will the future hold?

We are bad, tank and go for Cunningham. Even if we get Porter Jr(not happening lol).

Man we really are poverty. Its been so long since we haven’t been relevant,

The later Nets first rd picks will be high lottery picks. Book it. They have a two year window.

I think Stone doesn’t look at a single trade. He looks a few trades. The Covington/Ariza/Wood trades kinda showed me what to expect. Asset building and be ready when someone asks out.

Not sure how OP can claim John Wall is "completely washed"...

If you get an Allstar of those picks then it's a moderate success.

The Allstar should come preferably through the draft as that would show the front office can at least draft.

Kyrie Irving has a wire in his knee
that got infected and had a cleanup and out for the season 1 year.

Kevin Durant had a broken foot that required plate and screws during OKC, has a torn achilles

James Harden has a slight torn Hamstring

Health wise those 3 players won't play for 7 years at a high level.

Those 3 later picks the last 3 years I think can be Lottery Picks.

Some people just can't see long term. I'm happy with what we got especially since we still got Wood and Dipo in the process.

If he can't play over 50 games a season he would be as good as washed.

There is not much value tied to an injured player that you cannot really count on in the most relevant games.

    Exactly!

Aren't the Rockets holding the longest current playoff streak at 8 years?

That kind of indicates that it is hard to be in the playoffs every single season without fail. Great chance the Nets miss the playoffs between today and 2027

I can agree with that. Hopefully that doesn’t become the case

If you're going to call Russ a former MVP like it means something with respect to Russ then it's dishonest to not also add that we got two former third team All-NBA players back in these trades too (Wall and Dipo).

The only objectively bad move on that list was the trade to get Russ (and that was realllllly bad). The rest were at worst defensible and at best good moves since you can't isolate CP3's extension from the trade to get him here.

I personally think it was defensible.

CP3/Harden blew up and the Rockets wanted to try and extend their window. Harden (who was their centre piece) believed he could play with and win with Westbrook, they made the move to try and win a championship. The price was high, but they believed Harden was a championship piece.

In hindsight, it was a mistake, but you have to look at it in context of the moment.
If Harden quits the NBA to run a strip club empire tomorrow, does that make the Nets trade for him terrible?

You’re right. It’s sad. We are all trying to get over it.

I am unapologetic about going after a top 4 pick this year. We have to commit to a full rebuild. The trades left us no other choice.
