The daily neurosis of this forum is pure entertainment. One day Cousins should be starting, the next cut his sorry ass. The same can be said of numerous others on the roster. Jesus, have some patience. As many have pointed out, he is on a vet minimum contract. Coming off major injuries. He's only played in 9 games. He already has delivered more than Nene and T Chandler combined did last year. When signed expectations should have been 45-50 games, 12 to 18 minutes a game. A physical presence, which this team sorely misses. Pray his shot comes around. In the meantime on defense put him in the paint and hit somebody. On offense, get out of the way.
Right I keep forgetting Prince was part of it. So probably a fair pick then when it was buying Allen AND saving the Rockets from taking Prince's contract.
This. We can have a conversation about whether the Rockets should have kept Allen and given him the near max he will get. However, the Rockets were lucky to get someone to take Prince and Allen and get a #1 in return. Prince is $13,000,000 NEXT season. As for Allen, he is talented and he is overall a good defender but he struggles against bigger centers. I have no doubt he would help the Rockets this season and the next few.... but it is possible that isn't what the Rockets really want. Liquidity is big for the Rockets.
Has nothing to do with color of his skin, just his energy level, his rebounding and his finishing - we could have a PnR option on the floor all game long. And we let him go for nothing, he is what 22 years old on a low contract? Probably less than Cousins...... I just don't like giving away people that can play - and would help.....Boogie - just looks awful TBH - he is just too slow, maybe he is super rusty and will find his way around as he gets used to the speed of play, but man - dude looks bad. DD
People love scrub big men for some reason. For two seasons after his departure people were clamoring about how much we needed Faried even though he wasn't even in the NBA anymore.
yeah dunno. He just can’t finish. Looks like he can’t jump as high. But then again did he ever jump pre injury? He may be a little springier and more explosive in his pre injury days. Prob not getting the separation on dribble drive like he used to.
I think the bar is REALLY low here. We let Hartenstein go when we needed someone. That's the beginning and end of it. I don't know the actual number, but there are probably 50-80 guys in the league that would give us exactly the same thing. It's just tragic that in a fit of stupidity we let him go. About Cousins, he's just going to be a matchup guy for now. Maybe he'll improve, or maybe he won't. Either way, he can come in and play when he helps or sit when he doesn't. Signing him was just a bonus... we didn't sacrifice a thing to get him.
How about we let him get back in game shape before we jump off a cliff. I think that's a factor. He won't be who he was before the injuries but I think some of it is the lack of consistency playing this season.
He should not be getting any minutes . Only reason is we have no other backup. Sign Len and waive cousins
The only positive thing I can say is this team without Wall (or any true PG, for that matter) looks collectively terrible. I don't see anyone getting the ball where they want it and I'm not seeing a lot of good looks coming from dribble drives and pick and rolls. Cousins may have lost confidence in his body but he's not the only one that looks lost out there.
Bad coaching. Silas is over his head. There is a reason why in 22 years he never got a head coaching job
