Yeah, we're suppose to believe that Lance and John Lopez are insiders now lol. Either way Deshaun or his agent need to make a statement of confirmation or denial, all this playing through the media and subliminal social media posting is for reality tv housewives
John Lopez no but Lance has been right about inside information before. He knew that the Texans were going to pick Watt, when most people didn’t think so.
He's saying "people close to Watson" That means whoever he is talking to has a motive. I don't doubt he's getting information. I just think he isn't understanding the intent. There is no such thing as "going to request a trade" He either has, isn't or is thinking about it.
Lance has a decent track record from what I remember but sure hope he is wrong this time. I understand wanting to hear from Deshaun's camp but maybe they have nothing to confirm or deny at this point. If I'm DW4, I'm waiting to see which HC walks to the podium. But some of the onerous is also on the Texans. We haven't heard a peep from Caserio since the presser and we've only heard from Cal once and that was to defend Easterby. Honestly sounds like neither side is committing anything to one another.
I agree that lance definitely has connections. However just like any media member he can be used to create leverage for whatever party is doing the leaking. For example, he mentioned several times on his radio show that he was hearing that Tunsil wasn’t a for sure bet to sign an extension with the texans and wasn’t too thrilled with the organization. Lo and behold Tunsil signed and it came out after that he wasn’t answering calls from O'Brien in order to get O’Brien to meet his contract demands, and it worked. I’m guessing lance heard that Tunsil wasn’t answering calls. I’m hoping this is a deliberate leak by Watson’s camp to help get things straight in the building and to make sure that the culture that he wants is set. Of course it could also be exactly what it appears to be at face value and Watson could want out. But lance doesn’t generally make things up in my experience.
Correct, I am just saying he has had reliable inside information in the past, which makes me not so quick to dismiss what he says.
No one is blaming him for taking the cash but if he had demands, why not make them before signing when he had proper leverage. The way it looks now is that he and his agent were working to get the Texans to pay him with the motive of asking for a trade the whole time.
Throw in the Jets other 1st round pick this year and you would maybe have a deal. Even then I’m not sure if that’s actually enough. Deshaun is THAT good.
FWIW this would contradict what McClain and Wilson said on their podcast yesterday, that things with Watson were "trending in the right direction." I'd take LZ's comments with a big grain of salt. https://www.houstonchronicle.com/te...-coach-interviews-Deshaun-Watson-15879952.php
BINGO!!! Ive mentioned this couple days ago...I really get the feeling this was pre-planned by Watson and his agent. Secure the bag and the big key was the NTC worked in there so when he does ask for a trade he has leverage of where he goes. How ironic.
Who said he had demands prior to signing his extension? All of this is seemingly the result of Cal going rogue (which is his right) in the GM hire.
Man, I’m at this point too. Get as many picks as you can. Zach Wilson looks legit, even Fields. Trade JJ and whatever tradable asset we have and rebuild.
