I’m going to go out on a limb when I say that they might be against the “culture” and “alignment” of the franchise. Jesus is #1. (To them - I don’t care what you believe in that’s your right).

You sure do seem to be an Easterby fan. Out of curiosity, based on the SI articles and former players tweeting support of his removal like DHop, Rosenfels and others who have either been in the org during his time or are obviously still close to people who have been there with him, what exactly do you like about the guy?

Not sure how this is news or surprising. Caserio said in his presser that Easterby will be part of personnel and operations.

Caserio clarified that personnel decisions will be made as a group, but also underscored that chairman and CEO Cal McNair entrusted him to make personnel decisions for the Texans.

“Any personnel decisions that will be made we’ll make as a group, but ultimately that’s a responsibility that Cal has instilled in me, is to handle the personnel side of the football operations,” said Caserio. “So, that’s the expectation moving forward.”

There is a clause in which Roger Goodell can force an owner to sell their team. However if he hasn't made Dan Snyder sell then there is no way he will tell Cal anything. This means the NFL is not going to step in and the city of Houston as a collective has to get creative and come up with ideas that will cure us from the disease that is the McNairs.

I'm loathe to defend (waves hand in the general direction of the Texans) - but that's a very common public speaking practice: it provides a brief moment to collect your thoughts rather than jumping right in and potentially saying something you shouldn't. I've taught that extensively in media trainings to the very top levels of large corporations.

 

it's also used by vapid beauty pageant contestants. I think Cal is more towards the latter.
