There's no guarantee to get top 4. Just look at the rest of the teams they ain't as bad as the Rockets. In fact Rox on track to make the playoffs or just barely miss it.
If okc has the rockets pick this year, than this years a wash. There will be nothing to lose or gain. The rockets can trade to rebuild, and play young players. You think the team that was here with Harden would be gone by next year. House, Tucker should be thrown in to a trade package. John Wall, Cousins and Dipo? All these players ended up here because they were injury proned. Does that make sense? Rockets already have Eric Gordon. Can they be good enough to hold on to and form a team with, i guess this is what Stone has to evaluate.
Oladipo is going to surprise everyone, paired with Wall and a budding star in Wood this is a nucleus of a team that is going to win a lot of games. Imagine tanking with 3 potential all star players. Not going to happen, Silas has a lot to work with already and Stone will move a couple pieces before the deadline to improve the roster even more.
Tucker needs to go. Gordon needs to go. Maybe offer Tucker and a pair of FRP preferably the protected ones for a Tyler Herro type player. Or Tucker and a FRP for Aaron Gordon? Eric Gordon for a Pick or package

We can’t tank this year. Let’s get Vic and Wall and maybe Cousins trade value up. Be competitive hopefully we make the playoffs. We can rank next year We should trade Eric, Pj and House this year We should trade Clemons but I guess they will keep him, there’s no urgency to trade him. Would need to send a 2nd round to move him. next year we can trade Wall Cousins and Vic would be FA but we could do a sign and trade I guess if needed or just let them walk.
