Get the ownership in check first. Man we have some bad owners in this city.

Serious question: do the Dynamo suck because nobody wants to play in Houston during the summer?

The Dynamo suck because they bargain bin shop. They don't know if better players are unwilling because they never go after them. They think they can find steals in the lower divisions of already bad leagues. If a player is in his 20's in Argentina and still hasn't made it to their top division, he's not someone you spend a DP spot on and highlight like you did something worthwhile. It's almost like they think they're going to find Jamie Vardy in a beer league...but they never come even remotely close. Why are they not going after Liga MX players? That's the question to ask.

They spend no money, they are incompetent on every level, and the owner has no interest in the team

When they were actually good, years ago, the heat was a great homefield advantage

I think they can get some great players from Mexico’s 2nd Division League or any bottom-of-the-table Liga MX teams who are close to being relegation. I’m surprised they have not look or scout any talent over there.

the terrible defense just got worse. Traded their only close to average defender, Kiki Struna, to Montreal for Max Urruti

    Opening night vs San Jose

I barely know anyone on this team anymore, so much turnover

Boniek is now apparently the starting Center back? Who knows what’s going on

    Great win tonight!

Also, Wondolowski’s missed equalizer reminds almost everyone in the USA’s 2014 World Cup game against Belgium.

How long have the Dynamo had that logo, the intertwined H&D? That's a good look.

Austin put on a very good show in the 1st half vs LA, lots of nice movement and several scoring chances that were just not quite finished. This is the most MLS soccer I've watched since the glory days of the Dynamo.

Austin had a decent inaugural game against a much better opponent. They missed some chances and, overall, looked like guys that have only played together for a few weeks.

Good win for the Dynamo. Meanwhile, coach Tab Ramos was ejected and suspended for the next game against Colorado on Saturday.

    Great news

I know nothing about this guy, but no one could be as absent as Brenner was. Only room for improvement

I don’t know anything about this guy but I have a more optimistic outlook, just looking at the situation. $400M is a big investment in MLS nowadays compared to the lower figure Brener spent when he invested. And to his credit, Brener the investor is going to make money on this deal. Where Brener became absentee owner, Ted Segal probably sees potential in future MLS growth and in this large media market with a downtown stadium that has mass transit access. He also bought more controlling interest, where the other partners are less involved. It’s his show now. He’s more likely willing to invest in the product, the question is how much? And if he’s really paying close attention, there’s probably even real estate development opportunities in EADO as well. Stadiums with mixed-use development are all the rage.

A few interesting points about this acquisition:

    1. Segal has prior ties to MLS:

    2. Segal considered buying Orlando City SC & Real Salt Lake before buying the Dynamo & Dash.

It'd be nice to see him at least try to inject some life back into the franchise. Comparing them to Austin is apples and oranges, but the Dynamo once had a lively and passionate fan base. I loved going to games at Robertson Stadium but have had fewer chances to go to BBVA. Considering the quality of the product, I've almost completely stopped paying attention to them now that Austin FC exists. It'd be nice to see them reclaim some of the magic they once had.

Maybe he'll build some type of covered awning around the stadium so that going to summer games isn't tortuous.
