Bro, I’m old. I’m not joining anew app until it’s popular enough for FB to buy it. Then I can join and they can have all my data!!!!!
coffee houses are going to have to ban that app, same as talking on a phone. i'll join, though. the character limit of Twitter, and text-only in general, really impedes ability to have a discussion. i hope they never turn on video, the anonymity of voice-only levels the playing field against the beautiful influencer crowd.
sounds like classic social network app, but audio rather than text/pictures/video. Read the Wired article from May https://www.wired.com/story/what-is-clubhouse-why-does-silicon-valley-care/ “You might be in this giant room and people are listening,” he says, but then “you can go off and have a conversation in a corner—start your own room—and talk to someone one-on-one.” Each room determines its own speaking privileges, which range from intimate conversations among friends to conference-like gatherings with a few “speakers” and a large “audience” listening in. One night, Huebecker described joining a room where everyone had speaking privileges, and everyone answered the 36 questions that lead to love. It was shockingly intimate, especially for a group of strangers. Another night, he chatted with Ryan Hoover, the founder of Product Hunt, for over an hour. “He’s someone I’ve looked up to for a while,” adds Huebecker. “I got to have a great discussion with Marc Andreessen and some other VCs last week.” “I’ve tried on VR gear, but this was the first time I was like: Oh, wait. I feel like I am being transported into this different place,” says Rocherolle. “It’s all of the moment. If there was an amazing Clubhouse conversation last night and I missed it, I will never hear it. It’s about if you’re in the room or you’re not in the room.”
I remember when Instagram was exclusive to iPhone. It was all about sharing pictures. The good ole days . now you can see who’s eating what and when and where, oh and you can see all the sunset pics they post. So much fun! Lol (Sarcasm) am I the only one in here who is not on social media? Does this clutchfans account count as social media.. ? Fml
The Wired article is from May. I think now it is more open. It requires iOS 13, and my personal phone is still iOS 6, so need someone else to try. (I'm not installing on my workshop phones.) @AroundTheWorld did you need an invite?
Hmmmmmm.... interesting. well, it’s not like we making friends and seeing what they doing every second of their lives.. I vote no. therefore . I’m a ghost
I just signed up on my iPad. Had to enter my phone number to get a code to proceed. (I hate doing that, but I did.) App then asked for name (wanting a real name...I provided wrong last name), then I entered my username/ID. It said, OK, and reserved my ID, and will text an invite later. we'll see
I have a facebook account that I started in 08 and have never posted on it and have no logged in in 8 years. Thats it on social media.
