Will there be a confirmed voting though?

    ASG was cancelled.

I think the media or coaches will have a say there.

He is already a star player. Dude is averaging 23 10 on 59% TS His D aint the best but it isnt the worst either. He is healthy and just played 40 mins with no problems.

Dude is a star, period. If Kyrie and KaT can be considered called superstars you can also argue he is a superstar rn.

Your comment is a tad crazy.

Kyrie made the last clutch shot winning a championship while Wood is putting nice numbers on a 4-7 mediocre team.

And Kyrie was 1 or 2 years younger than Wood when he won it all.

Kyrie and Harden got the best cross overs in the entire league.

I say that as a Kyrie hater.

Kyrie isn't consistent enough to be in Lebron's league if that is what you are getting at, he is a Tier 2 superstar.

Well Tilman got Harden to Brooklyn. That goes a long way.

How did Cleveland do with Kyrie before Lebron signed?

Francis wasn’t drafted. We traded for him.

Wood has some interesting skills, but he does seem a bit of a ball hog. He needs a dynamic playmaker next to him really unlock his potential.

He's a relative nobody in the NBA and this franchise is toxic. Be realistic. If he becomes a superstar it's much more likely he'll leave than attract anyone. Nobody wants to be here.

    this is facts

people shouldn’t get their hopes up...maybe he’d attract an ok guard that wants to run PnR non-stop

Wood has an extremely long way to go...his defense is mad shaky, and before these past 2 games, his offense was starting to get called out a lot on here

AD couldn’t attract anyone in New Orleans, and he was a real superstar

Agreed Kyrie is a superstar any talk otherwise is nonsense.

Christian hasn’t proven anything yet. Talented yes, but he called out another superstar in AD and we all saw what happened.

Let’s give the kid a season as the focal point and see what happens. Pick up this convo next year.

lol ball hog? You went there?

he’s playing on a depleted team with absolutely no playmaking or scoring for that batter.

    c’mon man do better.

we need him to shoot more

If you think about it if players that are rappers friends think he is bad cause he dont let them be on a long leash and do whatever then im ok with that... whats exactly wrong with Tilman because al we get is that he is cheap. Or is it something else too?

Nah. There’s no point evaluating anything from that game.
This was with Harden as a big, fat cancer overshadowing everything on that team. When we play the sixers, nuggets or the 3rd time we play the Lakers you can evaluate how he does against elite big men. Nothing about the lakers games was normal.

The case study was AD not attracting anyone to NO because the franchise is toxic, like Houston's. Wood played plenty in Detroit last year. He is really good. And can get much better. But he's not a franchise player and he's not attracting anyone meaningful here. Houston as an organization is poison right now and will be for some time.

He has better playmakers next to him, even with the depleted lineup. He forces up a lot of poor shots. As teams start paying more attention to him, hopefully he’s able to make the right reads and pass to the open guy.

extend wood. trade Olidepo, PJ Tucker and House for picks. tank for 2 years. build around wood and young star from lottery. sign big 3rd piece in free agency 2 years from now when Wall's contract expires.

Agreed. That behind the back pass yesterday was a beauty, but so far he generally has severe tunnel vision when he gets the ball in the paint.

I think the point OP was trying to accurately convey is that this isn't necessarily a long rebuild with Christian Wood. His aptitude is off the charts and the biggest need he has (other than being utilized properly) is playing time. I've seen people call out his defense as poor, inaccurately. He's rangy, instinctual and good at meeting the ball at the goal. The early season debacle had more to do with weak perimeter defense putting interior defenders on their heels.

He has to learn how to anchor a defense and how to get to "his" shots on the court more. That takes time and a team with the ability to let you learn through your mistakes (this year). He will need complementary players around him, but loving some of the young core talent this team already has. With a plethora of draft picks, some tradeable "assets", we can quickly flip into a young competitive playoff team with a bright future.

Harden left because the decision was made months ago. He had zero desire to return and no player on the team ever had a chance at swaying it otherwise.

Yes you are correct, but it was a draft day trade basically.
