You mean Christian Wood is gonna get poached by a team in a bigger market.

But that's not all NBA is it? Well that's still really good.
    Maybe, maybe not.

My point is more, you need first team all NBA level guys to attract other talent in this league. You need good role players and you need good management and good ownership. But above all else you have to have a place that attracts FA. That isnt happening with us in 2 years. Woods is gonna want to get paid and so is Tate. We arent going to have them after two years. So I dont know what we are doing here unless we dont start tanking right now, otherwise, this is meaninglessly spinning the wheels.

    Maybe.

Here are the all-nba centers from the last several years:

    2019-2020
    1st: AD
    2nd: Jokic
    3rd: Gobert

    2018-2019
    1st: Jokic
    2nd: Embiid
    3rd: Gobert

    2017-2018
    1st: AD
    2nd: Embiid
    3rd: Towns

    2016-2017
    1st: AD
    2nd: Gobert
    3rd: Deandre Jordan

I think it’s safe to say that AD and Jokic will make it, so Wood would need to beat out Gobert and Embiid.

To do that, he needs to be the best player on a team that is better than both Utah and Philly. It’s possible.

We need a defensive version of Wood. Wendell Carter is inaccessible. He would pair nicely with him.

No. He can't until he leads the team into the playoffs, which as of right now statsitically is a possibility that 538 has at 23%, so not likely but hey they are still in the fight.

Right now he's definitely MIP, he's running away with that so far, but the Rockets are going to have to become a playoff team before they get FA considerations...which is fine. Next years FA class is nothing to drool over, we have no shot at Kawhi Leonard and the guys after that are either really old (CP3) or just not franchise level stars (Blake Griffin) so it's fine.

Let's watch him grow and hope he turns into a star player.

Embiid has been having an MVP caliber season so yeah I think you're post shows it's not possible.

It'll probably be Embiid, Jokic, AD in any order. Both Jokic and Embiid are getting MVP considerations right now and AD is hurt since voters will consider that Embiid and Jokic do more heavy lifting than AD does.

I believe we’ve had the most difficult schedule to date...and certainly the most chaotic clubhouse. If we can just get healthy and have some roster consistency, I think we can run off some wins. Even after all of this, we are just 3 losses behind 2nd place.

I don’t think it’s likely...just possible. Best shot is just to be the best player on a better team than Embiid with comparable stats.

I agree, I think the playoffs are a real possibility. Dipo is underrated and Wall has been solid, I think they help our team a lot and Silas' offense seems to get a lot out of these players.

Well, I think we can make it to the play-in tournament that is.

How about this, instead of getting a Diva, can't we draft a star for once. Players like Hakeem, Ralph, Francis, and Yao were drafted. Look how many teams in the league not named the Lakers have drafted some good cornerstone players. Morey to long ignored the draft, and this part of the reason it caught up with us salary cap and age wise. Look when we won the Championship we drafted players like Horry and Cassel. They played big parts with our stars. I'm all for getting a star to add to a core of drafted players when ready. No more one star that puts you in salary cap hell and you have to get minimum old people to come here. Even when we had Parsons a second round pick, he added value at the time. Getting players like Howard, Paul, and Westbrook would be nice to get from the draft and you can control your salaries with them better. And also we don't get the older injured versions.

I just checked...9 of the 11 games we’ve played were against teams that would be in playoffs if the season ended today.

    Wall / Brown
    Oladipo / McLemore
    House / Gordon
    Tucker / Tate
    Wood / Cousins

I just have a hard time believing that’s not a good team. Our 1-3s have missed a combined 23 games, Harden basically quit after the Denver game, and Oladipo hasn’t given us a single minute.

Inconsistent roster is an understatement. They’ve played numerous games with 9 players that were even active. They haven’t played any games with a full roster since shedding the weight (Harden) and just winning 1 of those 2 in SA was a huge win IMO.

Injury risk, Chucker, Quitter, respectively. We don't need them. Morey is great but Stone looks competent so far so happy to give him a chance.
