This. All of sudden, all the insurrectionists who broke into the Capitol building are somewhat innocent, caught up in the moment, not really meaning to do any harm. Right!
Yes, but that's not the point. The point was if there was an insurrection. There was never one at the White House. If there was one, you can be damn sure there would be a severe crackdown. And if that was the case, would it have prevented this insurrection? No it would not. This insurrection has nothing to do with real or perceived handling of a 1-man breaking the WH barrier (who did face consequences) or of protests and lawlessness at Portland and other cities. It has everything to do with “stop the steal”and Trump being in power giving them a sense of protection. You are already hearing from these insurrectionists calling for presidential pardons.
I wanted to bring attention to this individual and wonder where people stood on his transgressions due to him being a crazed left wing ideolog ... that is all tbh this is a minor thread that I hoped would die off and we had more discussion about the American flag being redesigned but it had opposite takeoff expectations
He was spouting inciting rhetoric in the crowd soon before a woman suicided by cop. I don’t know what his motive is but he’s not getting a slap on the wrist.
...it's a good thing that all those insurrectionists who broke into the capitol only got five people killed. ...imagine how many people would have been killed if they were really trying their best to violently overthrow the United States government by installing an illegitimate (pre and post-election) president into office by force...
This is a good point. Let's say the invasion on the Capitol building had been done by 5 people instead of hundreds, resulting in two deaths, one from the good guys and one from the bad guys. I can almost guarantee, all of the remaining 4 bad guys would be charged with felony murder for the two deaths, no matter their roles in the invasion. As it is, it's nonsensical to charge hundreds of people with felony murder, but your point is well taken.
