Francis, Mobley and Moochie were at the Comets game together.

Word is Shareef Abdur-Rahim was there also, though he's probably just in town for hoops workouts, like many NBA stars.

Yea, I thought I saw them while watching the game this afternoon, or at least thought I saw some players that might be from the Rockets. I like the way some of the players support those of the Comets and vice-versa.

chris wragge interviewed steve on tv during the game...moochie, shareef was there, damon jones (although steve called him "damien") and nick van exel. Steve said he's been taking summer school (criminal justice) and just relaxing this summer. he didn't mention Jesus [IMG]

the new floor looks weird as the painted key is still black. the announcers said the franchise is buying the floor to replace the damaged one.

I'm pretty sure the DC Kenner pro summer league doesn't start until July.

The court is owned by the team and is the responsibility of the team. It would be like replacing uniforms or equipment I would guess.

jeff.. so if there is a college game or something played there .. does the compaq center have their own court for those type events.. harlem globetrotters etc.. or do the rockets let them use their court? seems like the rockets would have some kind of insurance etc.. whose repsonsbility is it for the repairs to the locker room etc.. watson's? no longer the cities responsiblity is it ?

For the past couple of seasons, DeMontrand has sponsored college basketball games at Compaq Center. The games were played on the Rockets court with the added college 3-point line. The Rockets must have given permission to DeMontrand to use their court.

Thanks for posting that outlaw... I wasn't 100% sure Rahim was there, that was just the word. But if Van Exel was there (he lives and plays summer hoops here), it just confirms there's nothing to that.

I hope Steve's not relaxing too much -- last offseason he pumped serious iron, got himself in great shape and played in several summer leagues.
