How can the league approve Harden to Brooklyn without completing the rest of the deal? Your Miami/Houston deal makes sense to me, but Riley is a tough guy. I think he will want PJ as well.

I don't think he's a huge drop off from Jimmy Butler as a main guy. I wasn't in love with the trade because it felt strange but if the Rockets believe they got a guy who is great, then I hope that guy reciprocates and wants to be here. The team wouldn't be a contender but they'd be fighting for a playoff spot and would be a good story.

They don't have their own pick right now and could potentially build on this season. Having this team now locked in and 7 new picks + 4 pick swaps completely independent from their own success or failure is a beautiful thing. Maybe Wood, Wall and Oladipo click and are a lot better than we expect? Wood is clearly All Star material now and both Wall and Oladipo are former All Defense guys and former All Stars.

Maybe everything clicks and the team surprises us all.

Miami may have interest in dipo but their more interested in beal and will be in a holding pattern on major trades right now imo outside of a tucker or someone like that. Just no sense to lose guys they need for salary balance in a beal move.

Could be true. But I see Miami’s interest in Beal having the same outcome as their interest in Giannis and Harden. Just not enough assets.

Best case scenario is Oladipo giving us a list of teams he’d be willing to sign an extension with if traded to, and use that as leverage against Miami at the deadline. Because right now, Miami is probably thinking why give up assets when they can just sign Oladipo outright in a few months.

I’ve read that James Harden is good to go for Brooklyn on Saturday — which means the first trade is official and everyone passed their physicals. If that wasn’t the case, Harden wouldn’t be able to play.
