I don't see how that helps us. I think Kenny is as good as Fizer, about the same size, and plays the same position, for a lot less money. Miller is not that great, and giving up 13 blows any chance to move up. The only part I like is losing Cato. ------------------ "We're having a pretty good time considering one day we're all going to die." Steve Martin, 1976

This is actually not a bad deal. It's fair for both teams and we lose Cato's ridiculous contract. Remember Fizer was the #4 pick last year and he's a scoring machine (well at least at ISU). Miller's a servicable center to hold over until Woods/Hunter can take over. ------------------ "Oh No..." -Bill Walton in 97 just before Stockton's buzzer beater
That is a very good deal for Houston. You get two players that can make an impact immediately, and lose one who sucks and makes too much. Basically you lose the 13th pick for a #4 pick and a nice starting center.
Yeah, it's a good deal for Houston. i know this may sound like unintelligent mindless no thinking beforehand blabber, but i have a feeling cato might turn in an honest day's work for the rockets next year if he's injury-free and given long minutes to adjust to games. yup, i said the unthinkable, the taboo and the unpopular. let me have it. ------------------

Please tell me you're kidding. Brad Miller rebounds well, but does little else well. You might as well start Carlos Rogers. Fizer is a former number four pick, and not a great one. Like I said, Fizer is not much different than Thomas, and a whole lot more expensive. ------------------ "We're having a pretty good time considering one day we're all going to die." Steve Martin, 1976
You can't judge a rookie on his first season. If I remember correctly Antawn Jamison had a pretty horrible rookie year as well. I'm not saying Fizer is destined for greatness, but you can't just write him off as a more expensive Kenny Thomas without giving him a year or 2 to get accustomed to the league. ------------------ Don't take me seriously...
Pinetree-Do not kid yourself. Fizer is twice as good as KT. Check his numbers out when he started while Brand was hurt, or next to Brand. They're probably 18-8, if not better. Fizer is stronger than KT, tougher, and does have an inch or two as well. -------------- Miller=tough inside with large body. Cato=once missed games for a broken nail Miller=solid touch out to 12 feet Cato=guaranteed brick outside 4 feet Miller=3 years, 13.2 mill, 2 years left Cato=6 years, 42 million, 5 years left Though, it wouldn't make complete sense for us, as Mo or CWebb is most likely of higher priority than Fizer, so unless we'd be planning to send him along elsewhere, he's not much better here than as Brand's backup ------------------ "I think alot of people find Cato's game to be very offensive." -aelliott, comparing the offensive skills of Kelvin Cato and Michael Olowokandi [This message has been edited by NIKEstrad (edited June 22, 2001).]

But without #13, we don't get Woods. ------------------ "If you don't understand it, don't try to understand it." -Carl Everett
I think we'd be pulling the wool over Chicago's eyes if we did that one. Getting rid of Cato's contract is probably worth the #13 all by itself. Miller may do nothing well, but he'll quadruple the number of rebounds Cato could have pulled down for us. We don't need a superstar at every position and lord knows we don't have one in Cato anyway. And then, I'd estimate Fizer is a lot better than K. Thomas is. Last year, Fizer was a rookie playing behind Brand. He'll be a lot better next season and should have a pretty great career, imo. If he was in this year's draft, we'd be fools not to take him at #13. ------------------ RealGM Gafford Art Artisan Cakes
Roydelton, would you really like to see this happen to Chicago? I think it's a steal for Hou, especially because, if I remember correctly, Chi has options to terminate Miller's contract after this year and next year. ------------------
