Yao feels very mad at Karl Malone's behavior.
    He said
"... that undercut is a deadly action, fortunately Boki pulled Malone's jersey, otherwise maybe he would have broken his neck. STOP. He is too nasty!"
"I respect him for his vigor as a 40 years old man, but I hate him when he play nasty on the court. As professional players, they should protect each other (even their action is within the rules) , but he never cares others die or what."
Yao told Boki at that night in the locker room "Boki , u should throw 175$(a jersey's price) to Lakers' locker room as a tip for him."
"Do u remember that foul, which fouled me out? That is definitely a wrong call, which can let it snow in summer! This old fox, do u know how he jumped after breakthrough? He kick-jumped me with his right leg, but missed, so how the hell can I touch him! "
After Yao heard Malone's comments of Francis that he is a bug etc, he felt very mad, "He is an a**hole! I will go ahead regardless to kick his a** if we have no hope to win in LA. "

Sorry for my bad english I cannot translate Yao's opinion vividly, I think Yao is suffering for the same thing, otherwise you would have seen how Yao shout at Karla face to face.

I must now admit - this is one of my favorite posts EVER.

Often, so much truth and emotion can be gleaned from such devotedly
homespun translations. There's no corporate slickness or political - correctness
to have to try to peer through. I love it!

    Please keep it up Tian!

    Thanks ur encourage Nero.
I cannot wait to watch this game, but I am worrying Rox's anger will cost a game.
I would rather see a win than a fight, although I love Yao's attitude.

I'd rather see a win too. But I would gladly settle for Karla getting what he deserves.

But Yao, please don't get yourself hurt.

This is exactly what Karla and the Lakers wanted, make you so frustrated that you will be thinking about how to get back to him instead of just PLAYING THE FREAKING GAME!

If the Rockets don't channel their anger & frustration into the right direction, I can sense a horrible game from Yao & Co. tonight.

Note that the reporter for this article is Yang Yi, who in my opinion tend to exaggerate Yao's words a little...

Yao might said those words, but I believe he said it not in a harsh tone compared to Yang's words...

i'm having alot of trouble believing Yao really said this, as far as i can recal he never talked like this. it is not that i do not believe Tian, but i think some people might have been exaggerating like the reporter who wrote this.

Not necessarily. Yao has shown in the past that he plays better when he is emotionally involved.....all the way back to the Asian Championship against Korea to the Washington game when he was knocked down etc......now the guards are a different story :D

i feel exactly the same. my impression is yao could have vant those things as a friend to this yang yi guy who then exaggerated a bit and put into paper. hopefully he and the rocks know how to properly channel the anger into winning a game.

Totally agree. BUT, fortunately, what I do won't change anything that happens on the court in L.A. so I can be pissed all I want to. It's the players who have to control themselves. Hopefully, they will allow this to motivate them but not get them out of control.

The rest of us can sit in front of the TV and hope to see blood.

I have no doubt Yao could have said that based on what I have known about him over his years in China.

That's what I meant by channeling his anger into the right direction. But he said "I will go ahead regardless to kick his a** if we have no hope to win in LA. ". It implys that if HE see the game is out of reach, he'll start concentrating on taking Malone out. I have no problem with taking Karla out, but when you enter the game with that kind of mind set, it's very hard to play at a high level because you'll be constatnt thinking about the OTHER GUY.

Hopefully, he'll just put his mind into playing the game, let Spoon or Cato to take care of the other duty. 'cause he has to play big for us to win tonight!

Out of respect to Yao, the title of these type of posts should be titled 'Yang Yi says Yao said'

The article also talks about how Wang Zhi Zhi told Yao about Stockton's dirty plays in the Olympics. And he said you can't really see how dirty Malone is until you actually play against him on the court.

It'd be fun to see how Yao plays when the Lakers put Malone on him.
