why are nba analysts and commentators always commentating on how steph curry is guarded. Box and 1.. who the eff cares, beat that defense and stop having the media make excuses for you. Harden was getting double before half court most nights. And then kevin harlan praises curry getting a 4 point play while kicking his leg out. But tnt guys( reggie miller to be exact) killed harden for those same tactics.

 

what does box and 1 even mean?

 

its a high school level defense that harden saw a lot during the unguardable tour. had 57 againist the grizzlies when bickerstaff employed the strategy for a full game. Luka has seen some box and 1 coverage this year as well and it has allowed tim hardaway to go off. But harden and Luka are so damn cerebral those type of defenses wont work on them

also yikes im just seeing the box score for the warriors/nuggets game. how on earth is curry a -21 when he has only played 29 minutes and everyone in the starting lineup is nowhere near that. thats crazy

 

if the league wasnt based on narrative and actually gave mvp to the deserving winner every year. Jokic would be my pick for mvp right now. super impressed by this guy

 

That's because defenses know that double teams are extraordinarily effective against Harden since he rarely moves without the ball. If the defense can force the ball out of Harden's hands early in the possession, they've essentially neutralized him for that play.

Harden has consistently proven himself to be a regular season monster. The playoffs are another story entirely.
