i did. i watched it in 3 separate occasions only to finally give up halfway. i understand it's a slow burn, but it just was never interesting. hateful 8 was super slow burn but for some reason i was still engaged.

plus if a movie has to be watched in several sitting to enjoy... then, dare i say, the movie sucks or a 5/10 at best. i know tarantino is infallable to some people, but truth it, the movie just wasn't good.

I don’t think there’s any truth to it one way or another, but it’s definitely not your typical Tarantino movie. It felt like a Cohen Bros/Tarantino movie. I enjoyed it.

No worries. I've had friends tell me the The Godfather, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Fargo, etc...were just dumb and/or boring.

    It takes...

I saw the film version of it in the theater ( yes it makes a difference ).
Only stone cold classic pulp is a better pic IMO.

    Pulp
    Bastards
    Reservoir
    Kung Fu 1&2
    Django
    Jackie
    Romance
    Hateful

Have not seen Hollywood but I think it might be top 3. I have to be in the mood to watch since its so long.

It's a bit over top for me some great scenes but everybody seems to be trying to outdo each other.

    Worth a watch.

The bar scene and the opening scene. The only other ones of his that compare would be Jules outro in PF and the Leonardo Dicaprio scene in DU.

Jew Hunter on the farm -- cut to The Basterds -- cut to screaming Hitler has to be one of my favorite movie openings ever. Just the Waltz opening alone is pretty much perfection -- there are so many subtle things that happen to enhance the unease in that scene it's amazing.

How can you not love True Romance?

And you have to watch Hollywood, post-haste.

    Very NSFW

    Gary Oldman, at his best

Dennis Hopper and Christopher Walken (again, very NSFW)

True Romance is probably my favorite QT movie. I mean, I'm not a big fan overall, but I really like that one.

I don't know because it should be right in my wheelhouse.

It's kind of a poor man's pulp but the dialogue is mostly about saying something cool and outrages instead of profound like Pulp.

Now let me be clear I really like a lot of it especially Oldham and some of the cop interactions but the love story really did not stick for me and I like both actors, maybe if Tarantino directed it I would like it better.

I have to be in the mood for Hollywood so I will no miss anything.

See that's what I am talking about there are great scenes throughout but the thread connecting them is showing.

I do really love some of those performances but I never really cared about the couple and I think is why I don't love it.

True Romance is a classic. As Buck stated, so many fantastic monologues and the Hopper (you could argue now the repeated use of N word was very unnecessary and could see how that would agitate people looking back but what he says and how he delivers the mono while knowing this is the end and his expressions are just amazing) and Oldman scenes are amazing. Plus Brad Pitt is awesome in it. Hell, everyone is pretty awesome in it, even Cousin Balky.

once upon a time didn’t really do it for me the first time, thought it was okay. But I’ve watched it a few times since then and I love it. Leo absolutely kills it the entire time (I laugh every time I think of him saying “****in hippies” and the last 20 minutes are just vintage amazing QT action. The only movie I’m not crazy about was the Hateful 8. Think that was the name.

The first 2/3 or so I really thought he was building to something special, but the (extremely long) ending was just an implosion of nonsense.

"True Romance" is an incredible movie!!

QT wrote the screenplay and Tony Scott directed it.

So many great performances. People forget that James Gandolfini is in this movie.
