I don't get why people are rooting for BKN. I don't care if they meet the Lakers, I'm going for the Lakers. The sooner they implode, the better. My hope is they miss out on a championship for two years and KD bails on them meaning Harden would too. Whatever gets this to happen, I'm fine with it (absent someone getting hurt). So if that means in the 2nd round Harden chokes for a series and frustrates Durant, let's see it happen. The sooner the team becomes a post-KD and Harden team, the better for the Rockets.
In a Championship Team there is Alpha Male Traits and Self Discipline in Staying in Shape, Working Hard, Listening to Coaches. Enthusiasm, Optimistic, Belief, Sacrificing Points. I have a Hard Time Believing Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant, James Harden can win a Championship as a Leader. None of these Bipolar Players are Alpha Males, Beta Weird Males more likely. James Harden Flight or Fight, Well He Quits in the Most Crucial Moments Late in the 4th Quarter, Never taking any Responsibility in demanding the Ball and going for Points. All 3 have been a 2nd or 3rd Option on the Playoffs. The Roster is Almost Empty in Role Players. Joe Harris and DeAndre Jordan are left.
Thoughts on the Nets and trying to win a championship 1. On the 3 stars one ball theory: if there's one thing for sure, when he's in the right mood, Harden is a willing passer. He'll set Durant and Kyrie up for shots. 2. The remade Nets offense: will they let James create? Kyrie and Durant are used to initiating offensive sets. It will be weird for them to just stand around. But Harden's best game emerges when you do just that. Motion gets in the way of straight-line drives. 3. Off-the-ball Harden is like a yoga resting pose. He's not moving for a while. Sorry, Coach Nash. We have MDA as your sideline therapist if you need a shoulder to lean on. 4. Team Chemistry: I think the Nets vastly underestimate how easy it is to bring everything together quickly (though these guys have been on the court together before (OKC, Olympics, etc.). It's just going to take them a lot of time. 5. How will anyone guard them? I'm not a coach but I think the Lakers (if they see them) will crush them. Milwaukee can throw the Greek Freak on Durrant, Middleton on Harden, and Jrue Holliday on Kyrie. Those aren't terrible matchups with the kind of help D that you can play now. And Philly has a lot of size. I think they'll be just fine. And Miami has decent matchups as well.
Thank you, Kyrie, for being so aloof. I don't think Brooklyn would have traded for Harden if Irving didn't go AWOL.
how will they defend? All 3 are Me-first guys, who's going to focus defensively and not worry about their numbers?
Harden is about be praised by the media once things get going with the nets and he’ll finally get a ring
Not even sure what Kyrie has been doing the last 2 years - Part time baller, part time flat earther?!
I've said it in the other thread. I'm saying it again. Every Rockets fans should wish the Nets to suck for the next 5 years. Our fortune depends on it.
As a Nets fan, expecting the worst and hoping for the best. Nets gave up too much imho. That said, I understand the importance of not wasting time with KD on the roster. Need to win now...
Kyrie being out was just a show. The Nets are ringing this year or next. People praying for drama are going to get a rude awakening.
I definitely don’t think it’s show. The guy isn’t 100% committed to basketball and has a unique personality.
