That’s an argument you could make sure. But Allen obviously isn’t same caliber as VO which means whatever deal you get for him is less so flipping for a first rounder means you get a draft asset to retain or trade better than getting peanuts via a trade deadline deal or let him walk for free. This was stones thinking.

I don’t see why this is so complicated.

Houston has a center. They clearly do not see Wood as a 4, much to the angst of clutchfans.

Houston didnt want Allen, but he was worth something, so they got an unprotected pick that’s 2 years out. I know it’s Milwaukee, but a lot can happen in 2 years. What if any of Giannis, Middleton or JRue have a season ending injury? Getting unprotected picks, especially those more than a year out, is very difficult.

I’m absolutely fine with the Allen return. I’m more curious to see what we do with Oladipo.

until wood proves he isn't soft and can actually play some level of defense he isn't a a real center. he's no where close to being able to be an anchor and precisely why hes been placed primarily on the weaker frontcourt player and PJ has been on the bigs

lol completely missed my point but ok. Point is taxes are taxes whether it’s federal or state income, small business or corporate. Most of you would say no. At the end of the day it’s about saving money either for investing back into your operations or personal bank account. No one likes taxes let’s be honest. Let’s stop playing the false righteous game and be realistic and try to understand the situation instead of judging someone’s actions on what you yourself don’t condone.

you didn't really have a point. As an owner of a franchise you have things that come with the territory. you don't apply your everyday life to that. they don't relate. people portraying the business of sports to some normal life is nonsense

Allen would’ve come with a lot less picks. I’m excited for 2024 + when those picks might start coming in handy

Allen would’ve been best used for a top 5 pick trade scenario. Why pick him if you are out of draft picks and don’t have any real talent yet to pair with him for years to come

I think stone is just clearing house to hopefully find two young bright talents to pair together and build through the draft

Nah I disagree. You are now arguing luxury taxes are part of the territory? That’s it’s mandatory to pay taxes to win? How many owners are willing to pay taxes vice those who are? How many teams have been under the tax and have won? Why would you take on extra penalties as an owner? That’s doesn’t sound like sound business to me.

Well you have to live with being a dick and a contrarian just for the sake of being contrary and difficult. That’s on you. Has nothing to do with me. And you lie when you say you don’t care. Because you do lol

has plenty to do with you in this instance bc of your inconsistency in logic. If i cared, I'd change the way I post. I obviously haven't and never have since day 1. I'll call someone a dumbass just as much today and as any other day if I wanted to. so not sure where the lie is coming from

its an interesting argument. Last year Allen could have shown his abilities even more with a team bereft of talent and .. he didnt. Christian Wood DID take advantage on a similarly crappy team in the very same conference because his offensive gifts are way better than Jarrets defensive gifts.

Allen is another Capela - why would we backtrack?
