Rockets look like they are going tank mode for a top 4 2021 pick

    People keep asking why we didn’t keep Allen or LeVert or get any decent everyday players. To me it seems clear they are gambling on being terrible and to avoid the swap with the 2021 pick.

    2021 is a strong draft by most estimations and we should be 50/50 to be in the top 4 and keep the pick. If we do then there are no further obligations. If we don’t then we swap with OKC who isn’t stellar this year so it would likely drop from a mid lotto to low lotto pick.

    2021 first round draft pick from Oklahoma City, Miami or Brooklyn (swap, Houston, Oklahoma City or Miami outgoing to Brooklyn)
    Oklahoma City will receive the two most favorable of its 2021 1st round pick, Miami's 2021 1st round pick and Houston's 2021 1st round pick protected for selections 1-4 and Houston will receive the more favorable of (i) the least favorable of the three and (ii) Brooklyn's 2021 1st round pick; if the Houston pick falls within its protected range and is therefore not conveyable, then Houston's obligation to Oklahoma City will be extinguished and Oklahoma City will instead receive its pick and the Miami pick and Houston will instead receive the more favorable of its pick and the Brooklyn pick

    Real next Kevin Durant is Emoni Bates. Holmgren is his good but not as good rival. Bates is a sure thing.

    I think we will still likely be (slightly) too good to nab a top 4 pick. It’s still way too early...and we’re just 3-6. Unless there is literally a directive to lose games, I just don’t see us being that bad. Maybe I’m wrong, though. I think Tillman may want to fight for a playoff spot in hopes of swindling top tier FAs here, though everyone and their mom knows Tillman isn’t attracting any legit star.

    it's going to be 5-10, I'm almost certain.

    It's going to be a higher pick than any of the picks we just got from Brooklyn.

    Anyone who liked the Russell Westbrook trade when it happened has no right to share their opinions here ever again.
