There didn't seem to be many suitors of Harden who's willing to part for young pieces. Contenders don't want to lose pieces to get Harden and hurt their chances.

Notice now Denver and Boston just disappeared from the conversation when we asked for Brown and MPJ. Hell Miami didn't even want to part with role players.

Lakers, Clippers and Mil gave up more because they were in desperate situation to appease their star player. Our suitors were all contenders to begin with.

In the end, the only offers were simmons, or load of picks from Brooklyn.

Many people say tank ... I am not sure how the freak we can tank with Wall, Dipo, EG, Boogie, Tucker on this team. I want to know how to tell those guys to tank.

If tanking is the objective, we are far from tanking mode. Lots of work need be done.

You play this group until the deadline and see what you have. Then make a decision to either scorched earth trade everyone or resign Oladipo and try to sneak into the playoffs until one of those Brooklyn picks pays off.

I don’t see Tillman going for a trust the process type plan even if it saves money.

My hope is that the Rockets can do a semi-rebuild and still put together a competitive team to get in the playoffs as a low seed until their draft picks materialize into our next superstar(s).

What are they worth? We couldn’t give Gordon away and not much of a market for a 6’4” center. Hold on to them if we can’t get even value because we don’t have assets to burn on moving them because of the feelings.

I am actually very pleased to have DeMarcus Cousins on the team after his candor today, but we need a full rebuild so Tilman has a chance to get back on his feet.

They can probably get a 2nd rd pick and a young bench player with upside like Justin James/Paul Reed type guy for Tucker.

Gordon's contract cant be moved unless they add picks and that doesn't need to happen during a rebuild.

Well after last night you had to ship him out. If Harden was 27 instead of 31, we would have held out for way longer

So if we can't compete with the Lakers we just compete to have the worst record and hope a bunch of late first rounders will turn into super stars?

Absolutely sell everyone and get into a full rebuild, any other option is a complete waste.

Y'all think this is bad... Wait till the Rockets tank, draft Bates, and he leaves in his prime because Tillman offered a dollar short of the Super max!

    Go for Collins atl.
Wood plus Collins sets our front court. Young versatile bigs.
    Tucker straight up
    Or
    A 1st rounder

I feel that this team is only like 1 player away from a dynasty - so I'm pretty sure this is going to be the time Tilman goes into the luxury tax with some crazy tank the franchise even more trade at the deadline - trust me, it'll pay off for a 1st round exit

Prepare for Cavs level of suck for at least a couple years. It's not even a guarantee the current front office knows how to scout talent in the draft. The Rockets could go every year picking busts in the top 10 of the lottery. This isn't the Spurs. There's no real track record of good scouting or developing players.

    According to circumstances.

    Rehabilate value and sell.
Tank but start developing good culture
Sell caspace for picks and give chances to undrafted rookies

According to circumstances if a young star becomes available trade for him.

It blows my mind why anyone would want to "stay in the mix for the playoffs". Like what does that even get you? It's such a shallow, shortsighted sense of satisfaction that I can't comprehend why anyone who wasn't diagnosed with a year left to live would want that for themselves.
