What does that have to do with not even trying? It would have been one thing if he was out of gas and just played like dogshit that last game, but he didn't even TRY.

if you are really a rockets fan, and you watched the games last year. You knew Harden was slowing down heading into the playoffs last year, he hurt his hurts, and suffering from game fatigue. game 6 is not that suprising in hindsight

you prolly taking the phrase "running out of gas" literally as in cars

unlike a car once you fill up your tank you're up to max capacity

athletes aren't like that.. you don't simply rest and recuperate for a couple of days and expect to be 100% or close to that. there's a reason why atheletes need an entire offseason to rest.

my question has everything to do with "running out of gas" for an athlete and that's the reason you refuse to answer my question because if you do it will expose you as either hater or stupid or both

Do you agree both Lebron and Kawhi rested around 9 games during the regular season to ensure they were fresh for the playoffs? YES or NO

if NO, please explain why did their coaches and themselves decided to rest around 9 games during the regular season

and for your reference you prolly haven't read this and feel free to refute "running out of gas" "running on empty" for athletes

Are you trying to say that once Harden was out of gas, he was incapable of playing hard anymore without a long period of rest (more than a couple days)? LMFAO that's one of the worst arguments I've heard on this board.

And I don't care if he wasn't 100%. Like I, and other posters have said, there's a difference between not playing well and not TRYING. He played like crap in the 13TO elimination game loss to the Warriors, but nobody said he wasn't TRYING that game. Do you understand the difference now, or are you that dense?

LeBron and Kawhi rested to limit injury risk. However, IF they played NINE more regular season basketball games, I don't think they would have stopped TRYING for their last game because their tank was on empty. Also, LeBron played pretty damn well in his elimination game (41/13/8).

Face it. Your hero did not give any effort in an elimination game and that will always be a stain he has to wear.

So should we worry about CP3?

LOL @ shooting at the messenger

    https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/...l-and-james-harden-fell-apart-late-in-game-5/

"They probably got tired, we just couldn't quite push it," D'Antoni said. "You know, it was hard fought. We played as hard as we could and we had our chances to win, so be it."

They didn't have pace because they looked out of gas.

It's easy to blame the seven-man rotation Mike D'Antoni has gone to, predictably given his history. But the only man out was Nene and Clint Capela was fresh. There are no other guards to turn to, no other wings outside of Sam Dekker, who might not be ready for this moment. It presents an issue, though. The Rockets are tired, and playing a short rotation, and need to play fast with energy.

Harden was running on empty, gassed from a grueling regular season.

As LeBron James and the Spurs employed resting strategies throughout the regular season,

Before winning the 2014 Finals MVP, Kawhi Leonard ranked 138th in minutes played during the regular season. Andre Iguodala spent the regular season coming off the bench before nabbing the 2015 Finals MVP. Before his brilliant 2016 Finals manifesto, LeBron James enjoyed 19 extra days off in the playoffs as a result of sweeping early-round opponents, while the Warriors labored through injuries and a grueling seven-game marathon against the OKC Thunder. Let's also not forget the Warriors decided to chase 73 wins that season instead of resting down the stretch.

This is the whole point of resting during the regular season.

Harden dazzled audiences in the regular season. But in the end, the human body in today's NBA can only handle so much.

    not surprised

what do you think of CP3's play during his elimnation game?

not my hero. he's the franchise's and city's hero. this is what he's remembered by not some "stain" you talking about

once he arrived rockets stopped being mediocre became instant contenders every year having more national games

2015, players MVP, MVP runner up, took the rockets to WCFs. Something Francis, Yao, Tmac could only dream of.

last year, MVP runner up, missed the all time most point produced record by 1, he's a top 4 player, single handedly as the lone superstar carried the rockets to 3rd seed overall being in the west behind a super team and a championship calibre team and ahead of last years champions and a couple other multi star studded teams

after expectedly losing to a clearly superior team, Morey (who would probably out of the job by now if he didn't luck out with Harden in 2012) and Les (the savvy business man) locked harden up to a record extension of $228 million over the next six years

CP3, with his goal of winning a champioship, joins Harden

And Melo will followsuit as well

Les, thanks to Harden was able to sell the franchise fora record $2.2B

those guys I mentioned are those whose opinions matter not some internet warriers like yourselves

while you and a few other haters whine, cry, and b**** about some "stain" in your own little heads

the "stain" in your head is the hatred and jelousy (either of his bank account or his lifestyle) of how this guy could have single handedly done all this. not even lebron or Kawhi with their 9 games rest or KD with his 18 game injury would have won 55 games single handedly carrying last year's rockets roleplayers. And in the playoffs having no help, a lower seed, and no HCA, they would't have gone past the 1st round as well.

Breh, do you think anyone is reading your novels? I don't care to argue with you anymore, since you clearly will never understand the point people are trying to make about trying vs not trying. Stans gonna stan. You should start working at Treasures if you want to ride Harden's D that badly. :D:D:D

Just memorializing the fact that Harden is a quitter and therefore we should not be too sad to see him leave.

Your 2017 "quit" call got vindicated other than the 1 MVP seasons, 2 mvp quality seasons includins, the greatest single season offensive run in modern NBA history, 3 first team all nba selections and having the best team in basketball.

Other than that, your timing was spot on.

Harden literally quit on his teammates even if he wanted out, at the time it was still his team.
