Fantasy is not a good measure at all for this. VO is a poor shooter, overall 39% in 19/20, 42% 20/21 (and shoots 17/gm). He also also coming off a blown quad. Just 1 above average shooting year in his entire career.

The Rockets took on Oladipo only because he is an expiring deal.

I'll settle for that, but I'm sure Riley won't.

I doubt the Rockets sign anyone significant this summer, too. But, having cap flexibility when the right time to strike occurs isn’t a bad thing. For now, even if the Rockets don’t sign anyone with it, they can do what the Thunder did this offseason and take on contracts for more picks.

If Tilman does absolutely nothing with the cap space gained in the trade within the next few years. then he deserves all the anger he will get from diehard Rockets’ fans.

What would he do though? Who are we going to sign? We have to tank and players drafted here. Having cap flexibility in our situation really means nothing to me right now.

    Tilman feeling generous.

Yes, take the younger LeVert! Take this 2023 pick!

I'm sure he won't spend a penny with it.

More than likely, the Rockets would join the Thunder as teams willing to eat a bad contract for more first-round picks. The Thunder, for example, were willing to take on Horford’s contract for a future first-round pick. I’m not suggesting the Rockets take on a deal of that length and magnitude in exchange for another first-round pick, but the possibility now exists.

It won’t shock me if that happens. I, like the vast majority of Rockets’ fans, wishes Fertitta would sell the team if he isn’t willing or capable of spending what it takes to truly contend in the NBA. Considering his track record as owner, I’m not optimistic he will. He’s also the reason the team is in tank mode. His unwillingness to listen to his basketball people has run off Morey, D’Antoni and now Harden.

He's a legit two-way player still in his prime for the next 3-4 years at the age of 28.

I also think you should look at his 17-18 year for what's to be expected if Dipo is fully healthy.

I’m well aware. Tilman Fertitta is currently on the fast track to becoming the James Dolan of the Western Conference.

I wish he had never bought the team from Alexander.

    Yes I meant Pat F.

Well a lot of blame to go around:
coronavirus precautions for Wall/Cousins/EG to start the season
Harden acting up prior to season
Harden looking about 30 pounds heavier than last season
House back problems and now precautions
Still too many 6’3 - 6’5” players. Freaky rec center size team, not ideal.
Lakers kicking our behinds. LeBron toying with us making look away 3....com’on man

Oladipo expiring contract is probably a rental just like K-Mart was is Harden deal to Houston.

Building around Wall from this year on doesn’t move the needle much. Only C Wood.

    It’s a panic/ money saving deal.
TF was afraid of losing out on picks which he can move later for lower picks.
