(POLL) The deal is done - your prediction for the rest of the year...

Discussion in 'Houston Rockets: Game Action & Roster Moves' started by kjayp, Jan 13, 2021.

?

How will the Rox finish the year?

  1. Tanking and trying to see how low we can go... that swap is top 4 protected...

    17.6%
  2. Mediocrity - miss the playoffs but not bad enough to have a real shot at a top pick...

    90 vote(s)
    42.9%
  3. Sneak into the playoffs and a 1st rd exit...

    62 vote(s)
    29.5%
  4. A couple more moves and we can contend! Maybe not a chip but we're in the mix...

There's probably some more dealing to be done... like PJ being moved... whether or not Oladipo gets moved at the deadline or not... but the main move has been made.
Make your prediction on how this year is gonna turn out.

Tank....if you are smart you tank. I dont care if OKC gets that pick. Trade Oladipo as soon as you can. Trade Gordon and Tucker....Im so disgusted typing this out. We are a poverty franchise.

Same thing I predict every year. The Fertitta family goes just broke enough that they're forced to sell the team.

EDIT: Sorry, I got predict and hope mixed up.

Pretty low expectations right now. Will not contend for sure. Just hope the young ones like Woods can continue to develop.

If fertitta's finances impact the franchise being competitive at what point does the nba step in? Obviously it would have to be pretty blatant but sterling ran LAC into the ground for much of my life. Almost as soon as he was gone they were good.

Rockets outlook not good -- I'm just happy Mr. Tilman was able to pay for his new boat.

pretty sure he must have financed that with current 4.25% camper/rv/boat loan financing . . . especially if he opted for autopay on the note

I'm thinking Championship built by a bunch of players and coaches that just love basketball and figuring out ways to win.

i went 'sneak into the playoffs' and a first rd exit...

i'm thinking we're gonna keep Oladipo...
Move PJ for a younger taller big...
maybe another minor move or two...
    we'll flutter around .400-.500...
Guys will start to gel as the season progresses...
We'll make a late run and sneak in as the 7 or 8...
Maybe win 1 playoff game, hopefully 2... but be done in the first round...

and an offseason with plenty of assets to be played with to improve for next year...

Tanking didn't even work before they changed the picking rules. Even if it works out 100% and you are lucky enough to get the #1 pick and that pick pans out as a potential superstar you STILL suck for the YEARS leading up to that and YEARS after it while your new superstar learns the league. As DM said many times it's not a viable strategy.

    1) 66-6
    2) First seed
    3) Sweeps
    4) Championship

Christian Wood named league MVP. John Wall Finals MVP. Boogie Cousins 6th man of the year. Silas Coach of the Year. OS Trigonum apology to Don G.

When did DM say that? DM has said the opposite I believe, you tank to get number one picks. Teams that are sucessful in the league right now have tanked to get to where they are. There are not teams who have gotten generational players without tanking.
