I am not 100% sure about his super max situation, but I guess his next contract will be around 32 if thats 4 years from now. and 33 if thats 5 years. I dont really believe a fifth years is more important than you can have a 3+1 option for the player.

I still see a lot of talent on the roster capable of making it to the playoffs. Beating the lakers is almost impossible without a miracle or injuries. It will be years, likely many years before a premier free agent signs with the Rockets. John Wall is a role player at this point, he isn’t attracting anything except gun to the bottom of his shoe. The Rockets suck now. The Rockets are rebuilding. The chance of another player as good as Harden joining the Rockets in the next 20-25 years is less than 50/50. That is why the Rockets didn’t want to trade Harden.
