Mm, I can live with getting Oladipo for levert. Him and Wall both look like guys that are successfully recovering from injury. Should be a decent backcourt to watch. Kinda sad we didn't get Jarrett Allen though

We could get more raising Lavert's trade value than Oladipo. It gets us nothing. He has 53 TS% this year on mediocre defense. We arent going to do crap.
Clearing capspace gives you flexibility, whether to be opportunistic and steal players or get bad contracts in terms of assets. Look at OKC they wouldn't get all those picks if they didn't have a clear capspace. How many picks they got from Cp3 and Al Horford?
I would have preferred a package around Ben Simmons or a Miami offer with Tyler Herro and a bunch of expiring contracts, but I don’t hate it. At least they didn’t get saddled with any long-term contracts, and they should be able to get another first-round pick for Oladipo by the trade deadline. They need to move Gordon to clear a max slot for free agency (they are $24 million under next season’s cap) and trade Tucker for whatever contender is willing to take him.
Are you optimistic that current ownership would take advantage of that flexibliity? I'm not going to be shocked if one (or more) of those picks is duct taped to Eric Gordon to ship him out.

EDIT: I've seen places say it's Milwaukee's 22 pick, but then I've just seen it said it is the Cav's 22 pick which Milwaukee own. If it's the latter then we can add that to the good pick if it's got no protection.

Expiring contract which means the Rockets will be able to sign a quality free agent next year. People need to forget about this year. This is about rebuilding for the future. And with all the draft picks the Rockets will be a player in the draft again.
I wouldn't be too attached. Dipo is expiring and Tilman will NOT be paying this dude what he wants (a near max apparently). It's more likely Dipo is gone at deadline for more picks.
