Woj: Rockets want to trade Harden "sooner rather than later"

It’s going to have to be a multi team trade

 

Yup because if we want actual worthwhile draft picks we can't get them from a team that is getting Harden and is in win now mode. We need a 3rd scrub team to be involved.

 

just a gut feeling but i think this will be a 3 team deal involving the nets and heat.

nets out: kyrie, levert, 3 first round picks
nets in: harden

miami out: herro, precious, nunn, igoudala, olynyk, 2025 first rd pick
miami in: kyrie, pj tucker

houston out: james harden, pj
houston in: herro, levert, precious, 3 first rd picks from the nets and 1 first rd pick from the heat; igoudala, olynyk, and nunn get dumped to another team for who knows what; eventually package levert to another team by trade deadline

the nets can provide the most attractive draft capital once kd/harden are done and nets bottom out - something the other potential teams on harden's list can't really provide. however, the heat deal can provide the most salary cap relief (something that we all know tilman wants and desperately needs at this point). i think stone would've pulled the trigger on the heat deal some time ago if it weren't for the fact the heat can't really provide any significant draft capital. with this 3 team structure, there's a way for houston to get both cap relief, young assets, and draft capital.

as for the heat... given their culture and riley's belief that he can make players buy in... i'm sure he's tempted to bring in kyrie (who still does have championship experience at a real position of need for the heat) to play with jimmy and bam to form his big 3, despite all of kyrie's odd quirks.

i just don't see a philly deal happening whatsoever.. 1) bc ben simmons costs way too much money (not even considering how much of a zero on offense he has been this season), and 2) tilman not wanting to deal with morey is most likely a real thing... bc tilman is petty and full of sh**. and even though boston has the best potential deal with jaylen and smart... i just don't see ainge pulling the trigger.

 

Yup. Not sure what the structure will be, but I think a Nets-Heat-Rockets deal makes a lot of sense.
