Only 17 points per game over the last 5 games, lowest over 5 games for Harden's entire Rockets career. That's about half of the points he scores per game over the last few years.
It works in the regular season but doesn't work when teams get to see you in a 7 game series where they can gameplan better.
Why do ppl act like this is unexpected? He spent the offseason running around maskless in strip clubs with rappers and looks 20 pounds over weight. It's not anybody but Harden’s fault why his numbers are down
Harden has always sulked and checked out when things didn't go his way. Was one of the risks of trying to make it work, he seems like he doesn't care right now.
He can drop 40 anytime he wants, just seems Silas doesn't want him too. according to Silas he is playing the way he wants him to. Plus the offense/defense by this team is atrocious.
True. He’s definitely packing some extra pounds and it shows when he drives to the hoop. At this point he doesn’t even have the speed to get around big players. Got blocked several times tonight. This makes it easy for smaller players to stay in front of him.
He averaged over 37 points per game starting the season with sensational efficiency when the team was shorthanded. He was in worse shape at that time. I think he is just not allowed to be the first or even second option in a bottom dwelling team anymore.
Totally agree about the defense. Offensively, it’s not clicking, but the defense is absolutely porous. How many layups did the Lakers get tonight? It seems like they were just getting whatever they wanted inside and out
He didn’t have problems scoring to start the season. He isn’t scoring more because the head coach has cut his isolations by over 50%. Other coaches wouldn’t do that, they wouldn’t take the top isolation player in the modern NBA and cut his shots and possessions down like that... and guess what, since he made the “deviating from the system” comment the Rockets have been terrible.... Harden’s scoring isn’t any more a product of MDA’s system than saying Shaq or Hakeem scored so much in the post because of the system... Harden is an incredibly effective and efficient player on isolations... Silas wants to cut those down, Harden has done what he wants and here we are.... either Harden will be traded to a team with a coach that isn’t stubborn or at some point Silas will get sick of losing and incorporate more isolations for Harden and win some games....
