I watch that video imagining what I would say to those people if I was in that Congressmen’s shoes, and I’ve got nothing. I respect his resolve to stand up for himself, but there’s nothing he could have said or done that would make any difference with them. It’s depressing.

Nothing compares. In an alternate universe in which Trump won the 2020 election, I can imagine mass protests and violence. In a preelection poll, even a majority of Democrats were worried about this. But protesters wouldn’t have gotten close to breaking into the Capitol even if they wanted to (Antifa types very well might have tried). Trump would have had a militarized force at the ready to prevent it.
So you're saying breaking windows at Starbucks and stealing coffee does not equate to storming and ransacking the capitol, murdering a cop in the process, to stop a peaceful transfer of power from one President to the next? Please explain.
What are antifa types - because so far Antifa makes its appearance at white nationalist rallies and yet now according to the right they are everywhere Remember 9/11 and when Muslims couldn't take responsibility for the idea that Muslims could cause such a tragic loss of life because it was against Islam? What percentage of GOP are QAnon 33%? White nationalists 10%? Evangelical 33%? There would be some cross over And what percentage of GOP is one or the other of these? Evangelicals aren't problematic. But I tend to feel a large percentage only seem to care about overturning Roe v Wade.
Yes, in an alternate universe in which Trump won then America wouldn't see another day of democracy for decades. He would have time to inflitrate the military as all dictators do and instead of militia with ropes there would be armed tanks against anyone who wanted to stand up to him. Blood would flow on the streets. And when he died his children would inherit him.
There is no way Trump supporters would believe the results of any deep dive into the election results. They would see the writing on the wall. And, then they would say...that can't be right...it's fabricated...you're lying. It's just like how Trump couldn't lose or it would be fraudulent.
