These senators and other high profile political people are going to learn to stay low key in public one way or another for the time being.

...and nobody needed to twist Chuck Woolery's arm to get him to make a statement about anything MAGA-related...;)

There was really no reason for him to be making his statement out on the street. I get tired of the these politicians hamming everything up. Pelosi and Schumer do it constantly and just about every Republican does it. Everything has to be a show.

    ...Agreed.

Now isn't the time for heroics or theatrics.
You don't want to let these terrorists think that they've won or that they've cowed you or any of us...

...but there are still a bunch of people in places we just don't know about who are sympathetic to what those treacherous bastards are up to.

Democrats, particularly, need to be steadfast and dutiful, true.

...but don't be all that surprised, if a senator or a representative who wants to make an impromptu appearance somewhere (especially off the cuff or for show)...

...isn't led out by his or her own (potentially traitorous) security detail to his/her public execution...

I wouldn't call this a "report," as in some type of ongoing investigation. Someone in the Norfolk FBI office read an online post and shared it with others. I'm sure a lot of the recipients said, "well, duh. did you just now discover the internets."

The honey pot has some very fresh tasty honey, enough for all to enjoy. Never mind those black helicopters as they follow you around. They are there in case you need help finding the honey. When the National Guard show up, remember they are there to drive you to the front of the honey line. Rejoice Patriots. Your Time is Now.

Trump supporters plan to surround the Capitol in 'chilling' insurrection plot

The "lone wolf" is not actually an isolated event. It literally is THE strategy developed by white supremacists in the '80s. Leaders developed online platforms, distributed cash and computers, trained them to use the computers, and encouraged decentralized ops. This way, there is plausible deniability and little chance of the government dismantling the movement. McVeigh wasn't a coincidence. He was exactly what they had in mind. It's a genius approach because the media narrative focuses their attention on that one lonely guy with a couple accomplices making them out to look like nutters. Nobody ever talks about the underlying cesspool and how they were enabled. There was a great RadioLab show on this subject. Worth a listen.

A side nugget is Al Qaeda and other overseas terrorist organizations studied the US white supremacist movement and employed it themselves for the 9/11 attacks and other attacks.

Another nugget is apparently Hitler also studied white supremacy in the US as a nation that successfully institutionalized a superior race. However, Hitler felt he could improve on the US system and super charge it. But I digress. Point being, American has a long record of aiding and abetting white supremacy.

    ...and again...
...the hesitation by some officials in law enforcement to call this "domestic terrorism".

There's a law enforcement playbook for this. The only thing is that, to open it you'd have to run the plays against other (white) Americans...

...the majority of which who support or further this and other like-actions, are only Americans now by dint of their I.D. cards.

...which could just as easily be recovered from their corpses...

Look, you can fall into one of four categories regarding racism:
    1. You are a white supremacist.
    2. You are not a white supremacist but you have certain values that happen to also align with racists so you won't openly disavow #1. These are the enablers.
    3. You believe racism is bad, feel everybody is inherently equal, but generally avoid the subject. These are the "I don't see color" folks and largely feel no special rules are needed if we just treat each other fairly. These folks provide no resistance to the folks above even though they mostly disagree with them.
    4. You are anti-racist and actively seek to expose/undermine racism and openly discuss the subject. The influential folks here are the white anti-racists. If you happen to be of color, your opinion is largely dismissed in America as an extremist.

So to address why police are hesitant to run the "law enforcement playbook?" Organized policing in America was literally invented to round up runaway slaves. There is a LONG history of police falling into category 1 and 2. Today, I'd say a significant population of police fall into category #2. For example, the Capital Police that were taking selfies and wearing MAGA hats.

FBI and DOJ sound like they’re very serious about throwing the book at all that were involved. Using some very strong language.
