Yup, the shift in the suburbs is catastrophic for Republicans. They have to absolutely juice turnout in the rurals and exurbs to make up for lost suburban votes. And the only way to get rural turnout to equate to suburban turnout is to run people who embrace Trump-esque positions. And as Republicans embrace this strategy, they'll keep losing more suburban votes which will only magnify the value of running crazy candidates to juice the rural vote.

The Republicans are stuck in a death spiral now. The only way out is to run traditional Republican candidates who don't embrace Trump and essentially lose on purpose for multiple cycles in order to reset the party. But there's no courage to do something like that so Republicans will continue this trend.

Ted Cruz, Josh "fist-pumper" Hawley, Devin Nunes, and Jim Jordan and I guess Mo Brooks but not sure of others.

tanking for draft picks, in other words... asking voters to trust the process and keep buying season tickets.

...if the Republicans had done that they wouldn't have helped stage an attempted coup of the United States government.

Add Tom Cotton and Nikki Haley. I think the latter might be a real contender, especially if Kamala runs for President in place of Joe.

edit - not sure if I answered the right question

I agree. Those voting are the smarter rats that are seeing the writing on the wall from withdrawn corporate sponsorship. You can skim the chum but if you start throwing it around on everyone and making a huge mess, you're going to lose your patrons.

What world does Rubin inhabit? Seriously.
I mean, sure, he could get charged and even convicted. Will GOP primary voters look up if their Rep supported god-king-martyr Trump, and if so, will that negatively impact their prospects?

There should definitely be a civil suit filed against Trump and maybe others who gave fiery speeches by the family of the dead police officer and another one each by the families of each "protestor" who died. I can't wait until this piece of sh_t is no longer president and he is going to be screwed.
