So you would rather have (which they have been accustomed to doing) our players dribble towards a defender than take a mid range if it they were left wide open?

Nobodies saying the midrange should be your go to. You dont even have to look for that shot ever. But if thats what the defense gives you you cant force a contested shot instead. If you lose because the other team lets you take open shots what really can you say? Its time to hit the practice floor

If someones going for 30 a night theres no way an opposing player is going to disrespect his midrange and sit up under his ass at the 3 line unless they know for sure hes not going to take those shots anyways. Its not a coincidence harden gets undercut more than anyone. They just pack the paint against him or crowd him behind the arc. Its no question the game would be easier if defenders couldnt get away with that

Im saying that as an example of how restricting your shot selection makes it easier to defend you

That's true, but you have to have a coach willing to mix things up. MDA was not it.

It's not last year but it's when we were better.

    *Terry to Shannon*

    Terry: Call Lebron

    Shannon: No, no, no. no!

    Skip: You're out on Rockets?

Shannon: Yes, CP can't stay healthy and James....

Lebron was possible as long as Cp3 was healthy? That sucks if this is true. I doubt it though.

65 win team went to the wcf. This team won’t even make the playoffs at this rate.

Not sure why we're harping on mid range, if this year we're similar to last year in attempts, which is not many.

It's tempted to bring it up, if the 3pt shooting is doo-doo. Maybe a closer shot, to get the rhythm. Then back to shooting threes.

I do like it when guys like Tate and Nwamba goes fearless and attack the basket. But for the amount of times a Ref call fouls, they may not keep calling it on one team if we spam. With most of our guys being under 6'7", and if the other team have tall trees packing the paint.

Why? Has Harden fallen off? This team is better than last years. I guess WCF are cool if that's your ultimate goal. Whats the point of getting there if you are not going to win it all? I'm just trying to understand why this is a novelty prize. If MDA was the guy he would have done it. He was with the team along time. If there was a problem with Silas....Rockets shouldn't have let Westbrook or Harden have a say. This was "their" guy. In which they probably lied knowing they didn't want to be. Of course trying to f*ck the Rockets further. Maybe Harden is more worried about not looking like a cancer so he can show he can fit a team so a team will make a legitimate offer.

Get a grip. Harden is being told by the coach to play more off the ball. He is doing what he is told. When harden is given the keys look what he did in the blazers and nuggets game.

Maybe he really did quit. Yeah coach is really holding back a guy the organization is catering to and trying to keep..... That makes sense. I'm trying figure out since when did Harden listen to coaches anyway? Could be he just doesn't care because he doesn't want to be here.

He is doing what the coaches want him to do. How hard is that to understand. Folks wanted him to be off the ball more and share the ball, now that he is doing it it’s quitting? Make up your minds people

Austin Rivers when asked what it’s like playing with such a ball dominant guy in Harden...”James is doing exactly what the front office and coach are asking him to do....”

Rockets bring in a new coach and regime. A coach that talks as if he prides himself on less of a one man show on offense. The results thus far bare that out to a T. Appearing once again that Harden has done exactly what the coach has asked him to do. (Which I will remind you is exactly what Silas has said when asked about James)

And clowns proceed to deduce from this info that Harden has never listened to coaches, has quit and doesn’t care anymore.

Pardon me sir but your bias is showing.

NO!!! Harden is out of shape and has gain weight....look at him and from last year. He is not in a shooting slump he just do not care....Lakers were stealing the balls from him.....His posture tell you everything.

Did we ISO all that much in the playoffs? I feel like the ball was moving more against OKC, at least in the first 2 games. I think it's a myth that Harden just held the ball for 15 seconds on every possession last year. He definitely didn't do that last year post Covid.

Taking low percentage midrange shots doesn't change anything. Teams will gladly let us shoot all we like.

But nobody has ever been as efficient at iso as Harden. Why not continue to run it if the opponent can't stop it?
