It's the bats that continuously harbor new diseases that are ultimately to blame. There hundreds if not millions of subspecies. You them and the insect population explodes.. Tillman is just one of those owners that can't wait 5-10 years on a return.

Bumping my comment here to add that Cal seems to be inexplicably destroying his franchise over Easterby. This seem like kind of the mind control thing Isaiah Thomas had over Dolan.

It's obvious. We we magically ducked the tax every season at the trade deadline.

“My basketball ops [operations] got maybe a little weak at the end, and I just said, ‘We’re doing this. We are going to make the change. We’re going to go after it and roll the dice. We’re going to find that 5 percent.’“

    https://rocketswire.usatoday.com/20...tta-tells-final-hours-of-paul-westbrook-deal/

“But as it turns out, Rockets owner Tilman Fertitta also intervened and made it known that he wanted Paul out of town, as ESPN’s Tim MacMahon recently stated on The Lowe Postwith ESPN’s Zach Lowe.

“That trade was made because Tilman Fertitta wanted it made. He thought Chris Paul’s contract was the worst he had ever seen in business or sports...

MacMahon cited Fertitta’s dislike with Paul’s contract as the reason for him wanting Paul moved, but also added that former Rockets GM Daryl Morey simply made the move to appease his superiors.“

Is going from a 65 win team and a hamstring away to a team Aaron Gordon refused to be traded to within 3 years bad ownership? What about the worst losing streak in franchise history which also happens to be the 9th worst losing streak in NBA HISTORY? What about having anyone worth anything leave the team Within a few months of each such as Harden, Morey and D'Antoni? What about being the man that pushed the Westbrook trade through when his front office balked and hampered this franchise for years to come and ruined any chance to contend? That's just a few for you to get your answer.

I'll say the only thing he's done right lately is taking his own advice: he's shut up. At least until now. Last time he really said something stupid with regards to the team was after the 2019 playoff defeat.

He's getting rightfully criticized for the responsibility of tearing down a winning franchise in near record time, led by the departures of 3 future Hall of Fame players, a Hall of Fame coach and a Hall of Fame executive. It's impressive.

Yet the one thing he's, I guess, smartly done is keep his mouth shut. Hopefully he continues along this route and takes criticism in stride and can rebuild the franchise in "his vision" that will compete in a short amount of time.

We've heard rumors of his meddling in trades and wanting to "stick it" to Morey out of spite. I don't necessarily think that's 100% true, but if so he's gotta knock that off.

Either way: please continue to keep your mouth shut, Tilman, and take your fanbase's criticism in stride. Even better: offer some goodwill such as cheap ticket prices and great food discounts for the duration of the rebuild.

To answer the question of the thread title

    Yes.

Why is this even a discussion? Is it not plainly obvious?

    Dude!!
He came out with that ridiculous "we didn't mean to duck the tax, it was just a lucky happenstance" after paying a stack of assets to dump salary.
This 1 year after 65 wins...

90 percent of people see the undisputable evidence and won't take some guy lying to their faces, charging them more, and basically insulting their intelligence and loyalty.. about 10 percent(@tinman ) want to be a sub for tilman and just take it all in and then defend him while he laughs at them, he probably loves the poorest intelligence ones
