I take it we shouldn't expect any kind of speech from Trump to quell the plans of extremists and supporters for armed protests at the U.S. Capitol and the 50 U.S. State Capitols. He could do something about this. If more people die, then they will also be on his head.

Angry people with guns in large groups. What could go wrong? Depending on what happens, they could be bringing more gun control laws on themselves.

 

I should renew my membership now.

 

He should be removed, but I would rather wait until after Trump uses him as his attorney.

 

Guns are not allowed at the US Capital. 5 were recovered during the mayhem last week.

In all the protest and riots last year, those who killed anyone in 'self defense' are in jail.

I'm not advocating either way, but at this point, guns have largely been a non-issue given the crazy number of guns at the protests. These are rioters and protesters, not murderers. The true wack jobs are far and few.

Ummm...I would argue that everyone who invaded the capitol is a true wack job. Those weren't far and few.

 

I agree 100% about the numbers, and we’re lucky for it. Maybe 3 dozen of those people were out for blood. And none of that 3 dozen could find their own bathroom in the dark. Not a smart bunch.

And that was the key flaw in the hackneyed coup plan. Trump and his sycophants thought they had legions of slavering murderers. They really had mostly ‘angry’ retired folks and a handful of nut bags.

That’s not to say that you don’t throw the book at every single person who breached the capital, even in curiosity on 1/6. It has to be dealt with severely or this sort of thing will multiply.
