...I'm as mad as anybody about this, @Sweet Lou 4 2...

...but I would like for us, at every reasonable opportunity, to temper our righteous anger and indignation and thirst for justice with appropriate mercy.

...I am willing to concede, in that interest, that the wolves were able to camouflage themselves with the sheep. It's the same tired excuse we got for the Tea Party becoming overrun with pieces of **** like this...

...and virtually any other time white supremacists co-opt or hijack a "movement of the people"...
...and it's strange how they always seem to hijack or co-opt the same (looking) types of movements, isn't it?...

...but our rush and zeal for justice and vengeance after 9/11, made us susceptible to scurrilous and opportunistic cretins, and plunged us into a decades-long armed conflict that still hasn't ended...and began at the insistence of a lie being the truth.

I don't think we need to have that happen again.

Let's try and be faithful to the process. And certainly, let's be more diligent and scrutinous of the particulars and the details.

If we put everybody in jail for being stupid, we wouldn't have a country.;)

This action was unacceptable, dangerous, treasonous, and intolerable.
The rebuke, where appropriate, should be appropriately stern.
We can do that without paving over the road to redemption for those that wish to travel it.

...the brothers say that there are levels to this game.
...so let's be the one's who keep level heads.

They're just trying to prevent criminal flight, to make it easier to round up the massive amount of people that are going to be complicit in this. At the very least everyone that was there is a material witness.

To @durvasa 's point, we shouldn't be placing individuals that DID NOT storm the Capitol in no fly lists. They exercised their 1st amendment right and as US citizens we should not support infringement on this right.

If you stormed the Capitol and there is evidence, then certainly, you should be charged and the FBI should be able to put you on a no fly list, but if you stayed outside and didn't beat on a LEO, then, those individuals should not be be on no-fly lists.

Well said. I think it's important and a key to moving forward and beyond these problems.

    ...thank you, brother.

...you know like I know, that Negroes have never had the luxury of getting away with being stupid. Life-and-death for us hangs on our ability to have some common goddamned sense, and pay attention to what's going on around you.

We've had to be "right". All a lot of white people have had to be is white.

...once again, we're in service to the white folks.

...so since they seem to need some help with all this...

    ...let's give them a hand.

    ...for old time's sake...;)

    He doesn't fly private?
Christopher Wray, the director, is not a Trump loyalist, my guess here is that they are laying as low as possible to avoid coming on POTUS radar and getting meddled with/implicated in more obstruction of justice/impeachable acts.

Sad. One of the great things about the National Mall, Smithsonian, monuments, ellipse, capital is that anybody can go down there without going through a billion levels of security.

But because of MAGA turds and their right wing enablers, we can't have nice things anymore. Like democracy.

I know this is gonna sound crazy but in retrospect I feel sorry for Mitt and what they did to him in 2012 painting him as the evil business guy, I don't like corporate raiding but it was not fair to hang all of that around his neck.

I am starting to think we might be further along as a country if he had won, he might have cooled down all of the rhetoric and actually governed moderately and would have stopped the rise of trump.

Obama could have run later and been more seasoned and maybe got more stuff done since McConnell would not have been so obstructionist.

From what I have gathered Mitt was pretty moderate in Mass and he did actually get healthcare done and we can all agree he was right about Russia.

He seems to be a principled man which I can respect, anybody want to weigh in on how he governed in Mass?

Everyone that was there has a story to tell. Who were you with and what did they do? Did anyone sponsor your trip? What violent acts did you witness? What were you told about the rally and by whom? Have you ever made threats online? Etc etc.

And they all had a choice to leave once inflammatory rhetoric became obvious, and the violence was imminent

I seriously doubt that is happening -- but people who made some sort of threat might be a different story.

    ...I like your optimism, man.
    ...but I don't think so.

Obama governed about as moderately as Mitt Romney would have. I don't know how many people excoriated Obama for being-middle-of-the-road, politically, on a great many things. Negroes in particular, thought Obama was far too passive and reserved legislatively.

Obamacare was modeled off of Mittens' healthcare plan for Pennsylvania...and Mittens used an opposition platform against that to try to win election.

Between Mitt Romney and Barack Obama, as statesmen (or just men) one could argue that the only real difference between the both of them...

...(aside from the magic underpants thing)...

...is one of them was black and one of them was white.

You're well-meaning, from a political perspective, @jiggyfly. But again, we're never going to be able to look at things politically...

...as long as we're allowing for things to be skewed racially by pseudo-fascists and white supremacists. Even Mittens (who might not have deserved it) succumbed to that by some of his campaign strategies.

Gotta do the first thing first, man....
