I know it has been discussed that the Rockets need a lot of rebounding help. Currently, no Rocket player is averaging double figures and Christian Wood is the only one averaging more than six rebounds. The second-best rebounder on the team is John Wall. Yuck! So my question is how do we solve this problem? Coaching (emphasis on rebounding by the coaching stuff with the current line-up), change the line-up (give some more playing time to players who are better rebounders), or go get a better rebounder not currently on the team.
Something that constantly amazes me is how bad most players are about boxing out. Anyone can jump to contest for a board, but a good box out is infinitely more valuable.
What about Marvin Bagley? There are some rumblings of dissatisfaction from him as well. He's on the last year of his contract so its not ideal but trading House plus PJ Tucker works financially.
Normally sized players would help a tad there. If those learned to box out. 6'8 SFs 6'10 PF 7' Centers Get rid of those 6'4 and 6'5 forwards for good.
I noticed several rebounds lost because people are watching the ball and not putting a body on a man as soon as the shot goes up. Wood will often give a guy a rebound because it's not HIS man to box out. He needs to just put a body on SOMEONE anytime a shot goes up. Rebounding is about doing your work early.
6’5” PF who’s always out of position or somehow manages to ‘almost’ get the rebound while flailing his arms in the air and hoping we think it’s his hustle or that he hustled too much so he couldn’t get the rebound ... yeah fix that and we rebound better
Are we gonna ignore this clown a** House not with the team and all he does is promote his trash a** music at the beginning of the season and a season with a loosing record. As much as i like him but he's a clown with no priorities. Screwed us in the playoff and all his stupid IG story has been nothing but his trash a** "it's lit" track. Lit is so yesterday....
Play Cousins and Wood together at times and overall Cousins needs more minutes and keep his cool so he doesn’t keep getting ejected. We need another big though.
