no... he was just trying to stop his momentum so he just reached out to grab something. unfortunately that turned out to be a little kid. i cringed when i saw the replay though... it was pretty brutal. hope that kid's okay. this is already mentioned in that "One of a Billion..." thread a couple threads down so yours might get merged.
yipengzhao, it was not a little kid. The girl that got clotheslined is a friend of mine. She had to go to the hospital to get treated for a concussion (from what i understand). Prayers would help a lot. Me and my buddies went out last night, and she was supposed to join us.
francis had already slowed down before he decided to go clothesline that chick. and you thought malone had the diritiest play of the game.
JBII, you'll have to update us on her when you know more. It was a bad take down. Hopefully, the Rockets will try to make things right with her.
taking off my blinders for a little bit, francis can be pretty mindless sometimes, and do things just out of the heat of the moment. The clothesline, the time he missed a key layup in OT and then fouled malone's rebound which led to Fts, scratching kobe in the eyes and then punching his fist in the air when he heard the whistle, its obvious that he doesn't play with much control. JJ and JVG are there to keep him on earth, but when steve is feeling like a god, he can cause both large amounts of negative and postive damage.
oh my god! yeah it definitely looked brutal. you're friend is a pretty small person and she was dragged out of her seat full speed and thrown on the floor. A) I hope she gets well real soon. B) She better get an autographed Francis jersey and an apology out of it.
She could sue the Rockets, the concussion might be worth big bucks. Tell her check it out with a lawyer.
Though no one else seems to have appreciated it, I thought it was funny. nyquil, put your blinders back on. You're right about Francis on a couple of those and wrong on others. Hitting Bryant in the eye was just a plain accident when he was going for the ball. There wasn't anything reckless about that. The needless foul on Malone was stupid though.
If anyone is serious about Francis intentionally hurting that lady, you need to watch that play again. If he was dirty would you see him stay there and actually hold her up till someone else came. No. Some people will do anything to bad mouth a player.
it was an accident. in fact he stuck around after it happened instead of running back immediately to the other end of the court.
Ranger1 She can't sure the rockets. Just like you can't a baseball team if you are hit by a foul (or hockey if you are hit by the puck). That is how I understand it at least.
