I'm going to, for a moment, reassume my sometimes role as ... The Trigil's Advocate.

I haven't read this book, but I'd give the basic idea a chance. Let's all pause and think about it for a second.

Are we better off for having large #s of people shouting at their TV's whether they're watching/scrolling/clicking MSNBC or FOX? (I know people in both camps who regularly yell at their anger-instilling news coverage, up to hours per day.) Are we better off for having little nobodies like us donate $50 and $100 at a time to "causes" but not to demonstrable ROI's? The Lincoln project, (and sure, I love some of their ads), takes in a lot more money than they spend. At some level, they're just extracting money in a savvy way from angry liberals. What if all that money went to food banks?

I donated to politics this year, including to some completely doomed democratic senate campaigns. Do the Mrs and I wish we had sent some of that to local food banks, or to a cancer research fund? It's a valid question.

And what if 74 million Trump supporters were still just fans of the Apprentice? LOL. Whatever we do, we shouldn't turn to politics for entertainment, and I do feel like that's what the media is doing with it these days, just to make money.

So, if people enjoy policy and the maneuvering and are informed, sure. I feel like I do that, at least on some issues, and I'll continue to do that. But we all could spend time more effectively elsewhere, particularly in our communities. Yes, the issues are very important. You should stay informed, but you can have 10x more impact worrying about those same issues locally than you can worrying about what happens in DC.

I don't totally embrace what I've just typed, but I find it sort of compelling or worth considering anyway.

Yes, I was a bit hyperbolic. Most of those are not independent. Instagram//FB for example. YouTube/Google etc.

What's funny is that if you go to thedonald.win they have all these threads crying about censorship. I pointed out that censorship is from a gov't, not a social media company. I was immediately banned as a troll.

I wrote the mods and asked them why banning me wasn't censorship where they feel banning Trump is?

Trumps Twitter account suffered from over exposure and conditioning/fatigue anyways that it really didn’t have much use for him anyways.

I think even his supporters didn’t even really pay attention to his endless rants anymore anyways. They basically already knew where he stands on everything anyways.

Im banking on a FoxnFriends interview soon where he rants and raves and that might be the last time they allow him on their show because of how much of an embarrassment it’ll be. The guy has lost it if he ever had it, and is in a downward spiral that we all are forced to witness for another 12 days.

These people don’t believe in free speech a single bit. It’s a cult that only allow speech that’s friendly to their dear leader.
