Is it more important to impeach Trump and ensure he doesn’t run for office again, or not impeach him and avoid risking a pardon from Pence?

I doubt Pence pardons him at this point. Why would he commit career suicide for someone who just threw him under the bus and unfriended him?

More important to impeach. Trump can and will pardon himself... there are very few limitations to the presidential pardon in the constitution and no precedent for a self pardon so who knows how that plays out. I'd go further and say no one knows how it will play out. But one cannot pardon for cases involving impeachment.

Impeach. Worry about pardons later. Of course, the states will have him after impeachment.

Exactly what I have been saying.

He needs to be made an example of so that no one in the future from any party would even dare do what he did.

All these ideologists masquerading as politicans are eventually going to cost us the entire system, cos the dudes on the other side of the aisle dont give a fvck about precedent.

All the GOP cares about is staying in power. Anything that is not keeping the GOP out of power in the short and/or long term is a bloody waste of time

In Spanish it's Nuclear Soccer Ball.

If the riot is legit, you must pardon it.

Seeing trump's republican defenders say he shouldn't be impeached because it would be "divisive". I guess the core question is... Do republicans ever think what trump has done is so wrong that he is a danger to the United States?

Weird, where are all those Trumpers now?

Said we were crazy for saying this would happen.....where are they now?

Maybe they now realize that character matters.

The same reason all these cowards have been kissing his ass this whole time. They need that idiotic base to keep voting for them and they’ll do or say anything that will keep them showing up at the polls.

I agree. Pence pardoning him now is pretty unlikely after Trump and his son have personally attacked him.

Better than impeachment is those are state crimes that he, nor another President, could pardon him. He should be charged as soon as he leaves office.

I think that is to misunderstand Mike Pence the human being. Like Cruz, levels of debasement aren't on their radar. Insult them, send throngs against them, insult their wives... and they'll still try to do whatever maximizes their possible power and popularity.
